Exactly what I settled on for my 642.
Got damn tired of beating the shit out of my 71 year old hands using standard ammo.

I will say so. If not the Model 65, then the Model 632.

I like all S&W .22 LR, .38 SPL, and .357 MAG revolvers (and some Taurus-I forgot to include my 3" Taurus Model 82 from the early 1980's).

Does any reputable company make a a 38 snub between 2 and 3 inches, maybe 2.5" ?

I find that I want more barrel than a 642, but the 3" versions like the Taurus 856 are a wee bit long.

is there a 2.5" SP101?

Kimber and colt both do full 2" guns.

Colt does the night cobra which is hot and then they did a retro one with a gold bead and looking like an older generation one that I like a lot.

Or buy a used 2" m10

My pre lock snubbies. The model 10 had a 5" barrel when I bought it.

This thread should be tacked.

Great thing about a snubbie is you can use them all week long

Keep it going

I just ordered a tyler t type grip adapter and some very unique panel grips for my J frame

No.  3” is not a snubbie.   It is the sweet spot for a .357 carry gun, though.

You totally should. They are awesome. That’s a 629 Performance Center.

S&W also makes an 8-shot .357 like that in the stainless N frame with an unfluted cylinder. It’s a model 627 Performance Center.

I think 3" is still a snubbie.  You can still carry one in your coat pocket.  4", even 3.5", is gonna be too long for that.

I'd love to have 3" barrels on all the .38s & 9mm revolvers in the house.  And a 3" for the Dan Wesson.

It’s wheelgun Wednesday so…

The trigger on the ‘23 model is not as good as my 3” 2005 model, but it’s more compact.

Do you think the '23 might catch up to the '05 after a few hundred/thousand fires and dry fires?

Yea, but I suspect, with with the ‘05 being previously owned, it had springs swapped, or the action worked. I’ve had numerous SPs and none ever felt this way without some help. The ‘23 will also get a home action job and springs. But that older one is nice- and I know this is sacrilege, but S&W nice.

Here's a 686-4 and a chopped & modified 64. I'm not sure the 64 counts as a snubbie, but I like it.
Attachment Attached File

637 & 36. The 637 has one of the best triggers I've ever felt in a revolver.

M&P 340 & 940. The 340 is a 9mm conversion and has the other best trigger I've ever felt in a revolver...it and the 637 have Apex springs and were smoothed out by a local gunsmith.
