Out of 365 days to choose from to visit family in San Diego I had to pick the same days as the TS. Saturday and Sunday were the outdoor activities so I think we're good. May spend all of Monday indoors at Pechanga. The sun there is brutal on me so the cloudiness may be to my benefit.

Quoted: My in laws live there and are preparing as best they can. Since I am originally from there, I have a lot of family and friends in that area. I'll be praying for everyone in that area's safety . View Quote I live in Ca and have parents in the coastal area and by that I mean ON the water. And one of them stupidly has agreed to a medical procedure at UCLA on Monday. Perhaps they should be more supersticious and reschedule but whatever. But I welcome some really hard times that maybe makes it impossible for emergency services to respond. May the hurt that comes from this prompt people to vote differently. Some "you loot we shoot" signs could perhaps wake some of the fuckers up that have had it too good for too long. And all of Ca can fuck off if it thinks ot is gonna do some Katrina inspired firearms collections. |

Where’s this thing going after it wipes out southern CA? As it heads east, or north?

Cloudy forecast for the next 3+ days here in Phoenix, I'm loving this storm already.

My question: what do the people in Baja and SoCal know about the Clintons?
In Vegas we're already getting rain and T storms. |

I live in Kali, and I am near the based of the San Gabriel Mtns, and the storm going to hit the mountains and dump the rain in my front yard. I have survived 3 60MPH+ windstorms. And I survived more earthquakes than "I can shake a stick at," so stay tuned to see what happens next. It is supposed to rain from Sunday-Tuesday, they have always been a few hours late about when the storm will hit; the reason is that the oceans and mountains have a huge influence on the storm, and it makes it difficult to predict the exact path. I will just hunker down and load some ammo, I should be able to crank out a couple thousand rounds of 9mm at a rather leisurely rate.

The first traces of high outflow clouds from the storm have been going over my area since about noon.
The storm is big. |

Quoted: After that? View Quote There's not likely to be much "after that." Once the hurricanes get to cooler water or over land, the energy starts dropping off, the winds slow, the pressure differential lessens, etc.. May be breezy and some windy, light rains. The national Hurricane center has the charted predictions of various sorts. |

Florida Man laughs at the Californians being concerned over a tropical storm.
We don't even cancel outdoor picnics for a tropical storm. |

You guys get a half a dozen a year, or more, [maybe daily] out here they are like once in a lifetime. I am way further north [San Jose] but am kind of looking forward to whatever we may see leftover. I do have a brother / nieces / nephews in harms way though, so.. thanks. |

I predict 1 billion + in FEMA "Aid" will filter in because of all the "destruction" caused by man made climate change, and MAGA supporters.

It is a tropical storm. Not much wind (40 mph) and NHC is predicting maybe 6" of rain, max in some very small parts. In FL, we don't even buy beer for that.

At the moment Hilary is still a Cat 4 hurricane. While it's expected to hit the southwest US as a tropical storm, that part of the country gets very little rain normally, so a year's worth could get dumped on AZ, CA, and NV over several days.

Just saw a story about national parks expecting flooding, which makes me expect to see stories about water rescues at those national parks despite warnings.

Gavin Newsom mocked Ron DeSantis for how he managed FL after two hurricanes. I look forward to seeing Newsom fail at responding to a tropical storm. Sucks for the people of California. I have family in Manhattan Beach.

I'm in Yuma, nothing but light rain so far. The hotel lobby had CNN on this morning and they literally said California was going to see 145mph winds.
