Quoted: Correct. The Rebellion's typical strategy was to hyper jump in, strike quickly, and hyper jump back out. They did not have the numbers to stick around for a fair fight nor the capital ships to move fighters. Y-Wings were a relic at the Battle of Yavin as older Clone-Wars era ships that were basically stolen surplus (See Rebels cartoon). But fit the multi-functional strike role well with a Hyperdrive and patched together shield upgrades. X-Wings were newer Space Superiority Fighters at The Battle of Yavin (and in Rogue One) Their capabilities were Perfect match for the Rebellions growing needs in the war. Friend at work had an interesting theory about the eggs.
Baby yoda could sense that they were not going to survive in the tank so he's incubating them himself and will burp them up when they arrive at their destination. Notice when he ate the spider he chomped away and bit that thing in half but he slurps the eggs, seemingly eating them whole so they'd be intact when they hit his stomach. |

He'd already been causing trouble on the set before Season 2, and now this. Looks like the Get Woke, Go Broke is strong with this one. What was he doing to cause trouble on the set in season one? I should have worded that more clearly. He was causing trouble on the set during the filming of Season 2, so before Season 2 was released. Basically he was upset about not getting any "facetime" on screen and being upstaged by Yermit the Frog-Swaller. My understanding from the online sources is that now he's pretty much kept separated from the rest of the cast and reduced to reading lines of script to be dubbed in. How true that is...who knows? Pretty easy to cut loose an actor shits where he eats and doesn't show their face onscreen, though. |

View Quote Well sure, but it's not like they needed to hit the TIEs once they were in the trench with them. Just blast the walls with the turret and let the debris do your work. Better yet, drop a bomb out the back on a timer. The whole area should have been buried in debris floating everywhere after the first shots impacted nearby. Proton torpedoes with steering ability. I still love the whole scene, but dang. |

Since this is now the all things Star Wars thread...
Why walkers, when repulsor tech existed and arguably worked better for all-terrain applications? Maybe it couldn't handle huge weights? But even then, the tanks used in Ep1-3 look like they'd weigh more than a AT-ST, and be faster/more maneuverable/harder to trip. |

Quoted: And we saw in Rogue 1 that they work in wooded terrain. Also saw in the clone wars Yoda stopped fleet of repulser tanks with rough terrain. View Quote But we also see their vulnerabilities in ROTJ and Mandalorian in that same terrain. Maybe I'm putting too much faith in the lift capabilities of repulsorlift tech, but it seems like there should be very few applications in which giant, slow, stilt-legged walkers would be advantageous over similarly armed and equipped, faster vehicles that can adjust their ride altitude and (theoretically) glide over terrain that a AT-ST or AT-AT would balk at. Hoth, for example, or whatever that salt flat planet was in TLJ that totes wasn't meant to be exactly like Hoth. That long, slow advance over open ground was terrifying apart from the fact that it exposed the armored column to attack from ground and low-altitude air forces for a very long time. Assuming they could mount sufficiently powerful weapons, wouldn't faster-moving, more maneuverable replusorlift vehicles been better at closing the distance to the objective quickly and with fewer casualties? Or were the walkers just so heavily armored that there was very little in the Rebels/Resistance arsenal that could damage them? |

“That armor’s too strong for blasters!”
Although, that U-wing’s door gunner in Rogue One didn’t have a problem, but those were a different model walker weren’t they? Good to see other Y-wing fans, they’ve always been my favorite since I was a kid. I went full on fanboy when they appeared in Rogue One, and it was Gold Squadron at that! |
