Quoted: Uhhh...what? The end of Rogue One happens pretty much right before the opening events of A New Hope. So, the correct order to watch R1 is between Episode 3 and 4. Watching it after Episode 2 is pants on head retarded. If he wants to watch them he should honestly do it this way: Episode 1 *He can skip this one entirely if he wants Episode 2 The Clone Wars Shorts * Genndy Tartakovsky The Clone Wars Movie The Clone Wars Show Episode 3 Solo Rebels Rogue One Episode 4 Episode 5 Episode 6 Rebels Epilogue The Mandalorian THEN STOP unless he wants to torture himself then he should watch: Resistance *Honestly I’m not sure where this falls in the new timeline because I’ve only watched a few episodes Episode 7 Episode 8 Episode 9 LEGO Christmas Special But I don’t know why anyone would watch anything after ROTJ/Mandalorian. View Quote Rogue 1 was a pile of shit that contributed nothing to Star Wars. The only good scene was the 30 second Vader scene, the rest wasn't worth a second of my time. |

It included the best space battle ever put to film. That's enough for a franchise that's literally called Star Wars. |

Actually, it was probably better than any scene in any Star Wars movie made in the last decade. But still, the movie lacks. |

Quoted: I guess I need to watch Rogue 1 again. The only time I saw it, was in the theater. I was not impressed. View Quote I thought it was ok. It had some parts that were kinda awesome- as you pointed out, Vader doing Vader shit in the end was just great. Red Squadron made room for Luke too. Very melancholy, but shows the considerable sacrifices made by many in the saga to bring down Death Star 1. A serious, dark story in contrast to the campy kids movie with a happy ending that is Episode 4. It matches Empire in tone. ETA it also puts into perspective how desperate the rebels on the Tantive IV were when Vader’s Destroyer caught up with them in the beginning of Ep 4 |

Rogue One is one of the top three Star Wars movies.
And Jyn Erso has the greatest ass in the entire saga. Attached File A couple of seconds after that capture, the way the explosion highlights the curve of her ass, it's glorious. |

The more I think about it, I'm certain we won't see Thrawn in this series. The Mouse can't resist using their one successful creation to try and springboard and promote future shows.
A Thrawn centered show would be incredible. A villain, but one with understandable motives. And the opportunity to show some truly epic space battles that aren't just starfighter dogfights. I'd give my left nut for a Thrawn commanded live action space battle, involving 3 dimensional maneuvers, and tactics developed by study of the enemy's art. He wouldn't even have to be slaughtering rebels. Pit him against some generic, antagonistic race from the Unknown Regions. Maybe a scaled down version of the Yuuzhan Vong, where they're only a single, or a few system polity. Thrawn is underfunded, maybe with only 3 Star Destroyers and a few escorting cruisers, but he's tasked with conquering this enemy. We have a whole episode where he studies the enemy, gathering samples of their artwork and music, and we see him identify weaknesses and strengths from that. He tries out his theories with a raid on an outlying base, sacrificing a cruiser and 2 frigates in order to confirm his suspicions about a particular aspect of their psychology. We see him wrestle with what he's done, sending men under his command into certain death for the greater good. Then in a pitched battle, Thrawn exercises everything he's learned and utterly destroys the enemy forces, maybe in the process getting promoted to Grand Admiral. |
