Are you saying a riot in 1866 is the reason for the perpetual unrest in Memphis? I’m here in Memphis, not Arizona, so I may not have the best perspective. Our new Chief is considering letting us have beards. I just don't like it, but I'm the outlier. Beards will help moral and make us able to steal Officers from other departments. We will no longer be hundreds of Officers short and our call load won't be unmanageable, and our response time won't be hours. Because beards will make us have more people wanting to join. |

But as a mid level supervisor, updated shaving profiles, sick occurrences, payrolls, suspension of officers, shift manpower, etc. are the mundane world I live in, so that is what comes up in conversation sometimes. |

I hope no riots happen. And if the cops committed a crime they get a fair trial in a court of law. That being said, riots do not happen spontaneously. The instigators need time to mobilize, purchase weapons and supplies, organize logistics, etc. There will be some kind of a peaceful march organized, with community leaders and Crump leading the way. After it's over, groups of rogues will go to work on local stores and pharmacies. And ATMs. This is how it works. |
