Donald Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon is headed to prison after an appeals court upheld his conviction for contempt of Congress. He was handed a four-month sentence in 2022 for refusing to give evidence to a congressional investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. But it was put on hold as he appealed, saying that he acted in good faith by following legal advice. The decision came on Friday. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13404541/steve-bannon-jail-appeal-trump-january-6.html Supreme Court rejects Bannon's appeal. https://justthenews.com/government/courts-law/steve-bannon-has-report-prison-monday-supreme-court-rejects-his-appeal |

Prison has been having these electrical issues with the cameras...
|

I doubt he gives a shit, he can use it to posture as a martyr and grift off it for years.

The J6 committee was an illegally constituted committee (it was not ok'd with Jordan, Pelosi made her own rules for selection of committee members). Anything coming out of it should not be considered valid.

Maybe he and Merrick Garland can be cellies. A prison Odd Couple, if you will...

Hunter Biden laughs and flips Congress off .
Anarcho Tyranny at it's best . Guy does 22 hrs live programing per week . |

I like Bannon. Wouldn't mind having a beer with him. He would fit in here in GD.
He served as a Navy veteran, deployed at sea, IIRC. Bannon is one of the few politicians that seems to be tough enough to do okay in prison. He certainly doesn't waste his time/money on grooming and hair gel. |
|
This is the guy who swindled millions out of well meaning Americans in his border wall scam, right?
Coke please. |
|
He's been too effective at exposing their agenda.
All who oppose will be silenced before the sham installation. |

This. So much this. |

Is this the same committee that destroyed all thier findings after the show trial were done ??

When was the last time Republicants put someone in Jail for contempt of court?

Bannon is fucked. He’s trying like hell to flex his muscles / influence. He has Neither of the two. I listen to his show though. He’s not wrong on issues. It’s just that influence is not in his formula . He’s toast.

Merrick Garland’s DOJ routinely advises federal officers of the Biden Admin to ignore congressional subpoenas unless it’s one the DOJ says “okay” to first.
DOJ attys just got their asses chewed out recently by a D.C. federal district for just that reason, …. Subpoena rules for thee but not for us. |

Meh, 4 months for giving the finger to a runaway Congressional committee. I don't know why people are acting like this is the end of the line for him. If anything, it pads his cred with the base.
|
|
My first thought was this piece of shit giving a Republican Congress the finger and getting away with it. With Trump being an enemy to both parties, it obviously changes the rules. |
|
I saw where Jordan was taking heat the other day about all these Congressional hearings and how useless they are when no one is ever held accountable or punished for wrongdoing. That heat needs to be turned up.

Prison? For a four month sentence? What ever happened to 11/29?
|
|
When "of" and "for" make a phrase.
We should make "Contempt FOR Congress" a crime. Right? Because voting them out doesn't seem to work. |

Things worse than fraud: Conspiracy to turn first-world country into third-world shithole Conspiracy to steal federal/state elections Conspiracy to hold presidential candidate hostage Conspiracy to discard established policies for medical treatments, and perform medical experiments on entire population Conspiracy to unsecure borders |

There will be no end to this political weaponization of the justice system.
It will only get worse going forward and it will eventually result in civil disorder, which is probably what they want. |
|
Isn't every American with a 3 digit IQ contemptuous of Congress?
|
|
He is not going to jail for fraud so responding to that misdirection is just allowing the conversation to move from the real issue of prosecutorial misconduct to an unrelated talking point. |

Hey, no one is above the law! Wait, ...er, nevermind. |
