Seriously, a low signature hunting rifle, that actually looks like a hunting rifle....

Whatever you would use a suppressed .300BLK SBR for.

14's don't look like hunting rifles.. Unless if a wood stock is all that's required for the hunting "look".

I do not like the mini 14 or the .300blk, but for some reason I would buy a mini 14 .300blk

I have a 197- on layaway right now. I'm seriously considering at least going .300 BLK and doing the SBR, then doing the suppressor later.

Buy ammo. You may need to do a mag change before you hit your target.

How do you think it would function with the gas port that close to the muzzle?

I'm just wary of having a gun, that if problems arise, have to be serviced by the factory.
Especially NFA items.

Shaddap!

I had a Mini-30 back in 1994 or so. got rid of it when it wouldn't feed from FACTORY magazines.

Minis are really reliable from a function point of view. They lack accuracy that is a shortcoming of the barrel.

I have no idea how well they suppress, but I assume they would do well.

So take a mini put a different barrel on it, cut it down just past the gas block, put a can on it and you end up with a pretty cool rifle in my opinion.

Damn. Instead, I may consider doing this to my factory folder.

DAMNED be ARFCOM!

Then an AR will do; and be easier to come by.

Minis and M14's dont suppress as well as AR's.   Lots of noise escapes out of the action compared to some other designs.

Having said that, I am of the belief that every gun is improved by a suppressor.   Also, a Mini 14 in 300 BLK will be quieter than an AR in 5.56.

Do it.

.300blk = Good

Suppressor = Good

Suppressed, Sub-Sonic .300blk = Perfect C-Cups with perky, slightly upturned nipples on a hot blond who's ass tastes like French vanilla ice cream.

Mini-14 = Cold sore on her lip.

Overall, good. Just don't kiss her.

Why not just sbr an ar and get a 300 blk upper.  That way when the 300 blk fad dies down then you can go back to shooting 5.56
