RT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 currently has 17% positive critic ratings out of 40 reviews.
This reviewer basically says what I knew all along: CinemaBlend: TMNT review This reboot is the worst kind of cash grab. A studio saw a brand name they could exploit for name recognition and (fingers crossed) nostalgia, put together a script completely devoid of any kind of emotion or creativity, and is now hoping that you’ll ignore all of that because of CGI explosions and identifiable pop-culture characters. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is entirely hollow, poorly put together, and will require an audience on its level of stupidity to survive. Don’t be one of its supporters. View Quote |

Soooo pretty much like most of the movies coming out these days?
|

That could be said of pretty much every action movie that came out in the last five years.

That's the problem. They aren't expected to make good movies and never do. I bet it still makes a bunch of money though. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I guess am safe to resist the urge to run out and see it, considering the last movie I saw at the theater was saving private Ryan I guess I was more than safe.

I saw Transformers 4 about a month ago. (My brothers wanted to see it.)
What a total shitfest. They rehashed the same plot they used for the last two (Humans laugh off Decepticon threat and tell the Autobots to GTFO, only for Megatron to rise back from the dead, somehow, and start wrecking the humans' shit, which leads them to cry out, for the umpteenth time, SAVE US OPTIMUS!) The only little addition to the plot was that some fucktarded CIA director decided that all aliens were bad guys and went into 'Purge the unclean' mode. The only decent flicks I saw this summer was the new Cap. America and Guardians of the Galaxy. |

I pretty much figured not to see it unless I wanted my childhood raped.

Haha, you would probably never watch another movie again from the sound of it. Your sarcasm needs adjustment. Yeah I'm pretty much done with seeing movies at the theater. I do get a tickle out of people who get all excited about a future movie when nothing really has come out about it, then get the downers when real facts come out. |

The new turtles looked like shit. The trailer looked lame and boring. It might have had a chance if the TMNT were in their hay day but, but that's no longer the case.

With regard to the new TMNT movie the only thing I am looking forward to is the Red Letter Media review of it.

- Make GI Joe suck so bad that any of the 30 minute cartoons would demolish your movie. Check.
- Make The Transformers unwatchable to the point that I thought someone was fucking with me. Check. - Turn The Smurfs into some CGI shitfest. Check. - Make TMNT horrible even when people thought it was going to suck. Check. It's funny how all of the originals with 1980s tech were 100 times better (TMNT being in the 90s) and they've thrown 100s of millions at these things. All I'm waiting for now to complete the rape of my childhood favorites is for them to somehow manage to destroy Robotech. |

A film about giant, English-speaking, bipedal, pizza-eating turtles who wear Lone Ranger masks, and fight crime using martial arts while cracking shit jokes is a load of irrational and vacuous bollocks? No way. It can't be . Fancy that........ |

This is kind of like complaining about a Godzilla movie. It's a fucking comic book movie with Megan Fox. It's a stupid movie made for stupid people. What did anyone expect? I'd consider it a cinematic triumph if you can watch it more than once without getting brain damage.

Hell, nearly every comic book movie is pretty wacky when you think about it. |

Shit, look at what a passionate director and writers did with a walking tree and talking raccoon. |
