Sports media likes extra games for coverage material with no regard to added wear and tear to the players. Also, fans that can’t stand a particular conference getting two teams in the playoffs think the games can keep that from happening even though sometimes conferences will have two of the best teams. Normally there isn’t any more than two teams that are far above the rest even though on rare occasions there have been three. There’s at least one blowout with the top four and adding eight more teams is doing nothing but supporting ESPN. |
