My other thread got archived and all the names are gone
We had a decent conversation going. Just opened some Avion Small Batch Blanco.....might be the smoothest tequila Ive ever had. So ridiculously smooth. Its meant to be sipped as far as i am concerned. Such a subtle flavor. My session tequila has been Tres Generaciones...and recently had a nice bottle of Siete Leguas. What are y'all drinking? |
|
|
I'll just drop names since I'm lazy:
Siete Leguas (you already know) Fortaleza El Tesoro Pasote Villa Lobos Terralta Tapatio G4 Roca Patron (if you dont mind paying the mark up) Tequila Ocho ArteNOM (they do different distilleries) Gran Dovejo Now here is WOAFP with MOAR INFO!!!!!! |
|
I don't drink a ton of tequila, but I really enjoy Don Julio Anejo for $45/bottle.
|
|
Also check out the Agave Spirits 101 thread in the Wine Cellar forum.

I'm not a dedicated "tequila drinker", but I was introduced to Cazadores on a hunt in Mexico and I thought it was pretty decent, and it seems widely available and not expensive.
What is the consensus on it? |
|
Kirkland Signiture Anejo. That and Zings makes a great margarita.
For sippin I’m a 1942 fan. |
|
I do not like tequila because it doesn't mix well with diet dr pepper and ice.
|
|
I'm just dipping my toe into the Anejo tequilas, and enjoying it. One I really like so far is Casamigos Anejo.
Drank some incredible small batch stuff in Cancun last week, but that shit was too expensive to bring home. ETA: Since when does Arfcom not recognize the accentuated N? |
|
I cannot drink that shit.
I turn into the stereotypical insane bandido. |

+1 to Fortaleza and El Tesoro.
Got turned onto those from the very thread OP mentioned. Tequila is my spirit animal….. LOL….. |

Did you know that objectivity actually has no direct, objectively absolute, relationship to subjective perception and experience? That's called the philosophy of science. |

Doesn't make no damn difference if it's just some kind of Placebo Effect thing, or immediate biochemistry effect on brain chemistry and metabolism; that's all irrelevant to how it affects the way a particular person feels in their ghost machine mind at the time.

Casa Nobel is the best sipping tequila I have had. I have purchased 3 different aged bottles of it - one was $200. It was almost like a good scotch. A baby sitter killed that bottle. Bitch...
Abandonado tequila is the best tasting shooting tequila I have tried - but just don't think about the flavor profile. If you think about it enough, you will either figure out the flavor or you will google it - and that will destroy the magic. I will say this much, it is a lot like shooting a margarita. I usually will set out a round of shots for it, then afterwords explain the flavor. The bottles have lasted a long time after that. |

Which is always nice when you have to answer that 'Have you ever been adjudicated an incompetent dumbass tard by a court of law' question, honestly, on the 4473.
"Well, not yet, so, I guess...no?" |

For my tastes, G4 blanco bested the Fortaleza & El Tesoro equivalent.

Whatever they dump into the frozen margarita machine at Chili's.

Drank Maestro Dobel Diamante for years, decades even, but the local big box store quit carrying it. Been hard to find since then.
Now I wander the desert, drinking whatever I find. |
|
Just picked a big bottle of Espolon for mixing.
Store was out of 1942 and its $149 a bottle. |

Too bad you didn’t post this in The Wine Cellar sub; then it would technically be tech and maybe there would be fewer “tangential” posts.

Have done several blind taste tests using this vs Patron with several tequila drinkers.
No one could tell them apart. $19.99 1.75L Attached File |
