We have two teasers so far:
Based on the Taco, we know this will be on the new TNGA platform, and it'll have the 2.4L turbo, most likely with a hybrid option. How will this split the market with the new Land Cruiser we're getting? Good question. It has to be cheaper, and that might be a tight squeeze with the LC starting at $55k. https://www.thedrive.com/news/2025-toyota-4runner-keeps-drop-down-back-glass-hybrid-power-teased Also, if you want to be the original owner of a pre-ban model, this is your last call. |

I've been tracking this a bit...apparently it will be the new Tacoma with a back on it (mechanically)

Quoted: I've been tracking this a bit...apparently it will be the new Tacoma with a back on it (mechanically) View Quote The 4Runner and Tacoma have been closely related for much of their existence. The 3rd gen Tacoma was a divergence, but now the pendulum is going back the other direction. |

I will forever miss my '03 4Runner Limited, 4.7 V8, had it 17 years

More so than we've seen over the past few years, at least. |

I have been waiting for this literally for 10 years! Bought my 2015 Limited back then after realizing Toyota was nowhere new close to a redesign.
My 2015 is still in excellent shape so I don't need a replacement but I will look closely at the new model for a potential future purchase. Although now I am old enough I will be looking at the new Lexus GX too. And agreed, way to go Toyota on keeping a roll down window! |

If it’s based on the Tacoma, any chance of there being a manual transmission available?

That giant screen sucks.
Please no fucking tiny engines with turbos or hybrid bullshit. |

But muh "J" VIN Really you want Tahara and not that shit Hino factory at Hamura but nobody even realized I think production location and price are the two biggest questions. We (most likely) know all the architectural stuff, and we have a pretty good idea what it will look like. The LC starts at $55k, and the base model includes full time 4WD with center and rear lockers. The 5th gen 4Runner tops out at $55k with the TRD Pro, the Limited behind that at $50k, and the ORP at $47k. A generation change often comes with a big price increase, especially when there's so much new tech. Unless they manage to keep the pricing very similar, there's going to be overlap with the LC. |

It's GA-F and T24A and i-FORCE MAX (I h8 mfg labeling anymore). Price - I go entry at SR5 trim, base between $42-$44k. Purely WAG. Crossover at the top with LC 250. The question is the designation, which I'm unable to answer. Nor confirm production facility. But that will be known soon enough. There won't be any 2TR or 1GD like the Prado and LC 250 tho. Manual? Ayada has it right. |

And when it doesn't work, like you said there are options to solve it. Unless you are buying a Chevy. |

We gave our 2004 4Runner to my wife's nephew 9 years ago and it's still going strong.
I was thinking about upgrading my 2016 V6 Accord to the next gen 4Runner, but I think I'll pass. A 2.4L turbo? Nah. |

Can't wait to get another. I have faith they won't screw anything up. |

Looks like Cavalry Blue. Had the 2018 but sold it during Covid.

Nice. I'm loving my 2020 4Runner. Could maybe see trading the wife's 2012 IS250 in for one of these if the Hybrid MPG is good enough to give me the excuse to do it
