Here's what I don't get about Juneteenth....
The 4th of July, Independence Day, celebrates the day the Continental Congress declared we were an independent nation and were no longer subordinate to our masters, then we fought a war to make it happen...... The day the slaves were freed was September 22nd 1862 when President Lincoln declared (via the emancipation proclamation) that slaves were free and no longer subordinate to their "masters" and that the US military would defend their right to freedom, then we fought a war to make it happen..... So why is the new Federal Holiday "Juneteenth" not September 22nd? |

So, having had my helmet for all of three days, I just broke my j arm.
Attached File So now I need to figure out if I replace it with another bayo j arm, or upgrade to dovetail. I'm thinking just another $40 bayo j arm for now, as this is all going to eat into the cash I'd been planning on spending on pro/riser/TLR-VIR II. Or I could do a faux Wilcox G24 and a dovetail j arm, but . . . Fakes. |

General Order No. 3 was issued on June 19th, 1865, by Gen. Gordon Granger, general in charge of the District of Texas after the war, to the enslaved persons of Galveston, Texas, informing them off their freedom, given two years earlier on the implementation of the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1st, 1863. Juneteenth was first celebrated in Galveston on June 19th, 1866. Which makes sense, it being celebrated where it happened. Historically, the holiday didn't spread out from Texas until the Great Migration of the last century. The holiday at least makes more sense than Columbus Day, when the guy never landed on what is the mainland United States, but what do I know? |

And this is why they will be successful in reclassifying braces |
