Plot holes that I thought were awful were mainly these two. 1st Why is that evil Chinese Corporate trillionaire$ guy Mao so cruel that he even has no problem with his daughter being killed by the alien crystals as long as he gets the crystal's secret to make money off of? And # 2, why would the Belter Police force give badges and guns to the same evil gang that murdered one of it's police detectives??????  I wasn't buying that at all.   As I already said, season 1 sucked royally. Season 2 and Season 3 are outstanding. I especially liked the scene where this icehole character was killed in season 3.   |

First season is just there to tell the back story to the Canterbury, and paint the picture of political distrust and tensions between everyone. Everything picks up and seems much more focused season 2 and on. Even my wife who isnt into SciFi got hooked. |

Season 4 is a transitional season. In both that they were trying to shoehorn in different parts from different novels in order to make one season that was coherent, and that it gave Amazon a chance to take a dry run in a season where nothing much happened in the way of big space battles and plot developments. I expect season 5 to be much more intense. |

I enjoy it too, but The Expanse is so much more mature in different ways than Firefly. |

Had never heard of it, and started watching it on a whim one night, then binge watched all four season in a few weeks. It's Sci-Fi for people who love Sci-Fi. Absolutely fantastic. Didn't even know it was a book series until this thread though. That's interesting. |

I think my biggest complaint about the first couple seasons of The Expanse was that they downplayed what a burnout Miller was. It kind of lessened his final sacrifice in my eyes. But Jane still did a great job in the role. |

She was already dead. What would have been gained by scrapping everything at that point? And # 2, why would the Belter Police force give badges and guns to the same evil gang that murdered one of it's police detectives?????? There is no "Belter Police Force," the stations in the belt are owned by Corps based in Earth or Mars, the "police" are all contracted security guards (Detective Miller was an employee of the StarHelix security corporation and the Chinese Corporate trillionaire$ guy Mao was a major stockholder). And the gangsters were not given badges and guns by the local police agency, they were PMCs hired by an Earth corp. I'm not saying there are not any plot holes in the series, but something isn't a plot hole just because you weren't paying attention. |

If the series was to continue I’d love to see them use the thirty years between Babylon’s Ashes and Persepolis Rising to improvise new content. As for Cas Anvar, I sure hope he weathers this situation, I like his character. If he goes down, they have to re-cast, because his character is too important. I hate re-casts but what choice would they have? Things aren’t looking too good for him right now. |

Nothing against the actor they got, but he was such a huge change from the previous actor and he didn't have the same chemistry with Chrisjen's actress. |

Admittedly new Arjun seems too young for Chrissy, but frankly Arjun isn’t really a major character in the books. |
