| 76 when I left work in the NW burbs in Chicago. This is only the third or fourth time it’s been so warm so early. 33 degrees above normal. Very windy. Supposed to pop off here after 10ish tonight. High wind warning for tomorrows through noon. I’m topping off my small battery banks. |

My weather station rain collector gains enough lift at sustained 36 mph winds... ... I know this because the high on the monitor was 33.3 when I headed into town, and now I've finished picking up the debris out there... its back up sans rain bucket, but the high speed for today is 46.3 now. I got to find a way to anchor it, I am tired of fixing it. |

I wound up doing my bi-annual generator test last weekend. Got all the cars topped up with gas and lots of 20lb propane bottles for the inverter genny and grill. Where i'm at there's a lower risk of tornado's hitting directly due to the river and some mountains but the main power lines are north in the plains which is what fucked everything up in 2011 when the long track tornado's went through. I'll start slowly deploying my preps either later tonight or tomorrow as I get more fidelity into the storms moving in. IT'S 'NADER PANTS TIME!

AL tornado outbreak of 2011 was something else. There were tornado warnings all around me where we were working at that week. Had one to the North and South within 5 miles of us. If we have a torcon rating of 5 tomorrow then it's gonna be a repeat. I'm in North AL so won't be as bad, but still bad enough. |

| Squeezed my 19' truck into an 18' garage and stuck the patrol car out in the driveway. Weather should be hitting any minute now so hopefully it just blows through with no hail or trees falling on the house. 8 y/o is playing switch so he is destracted from freaking out over the storm that is almost on us. |

My buddies son said 3 small tornados hit around rolla. He's a student there. Our sirens have gone off twice but it's still a good 20 to 30 miles south east of me. The winds been insane though and just started rain and lightening. Our weather guys are doom and glooming for sure... |
