If you told me at the start of the invasion that just before the 20th anniversary of 9/11 the Taliban would drive America out and be flying around in Blackhawks I never would have believed it. I am sure they can get them started and fly them. The real test will be to keep them flying. American military helicopters are maintenance hogs. The big mistake is the US Military was it didn’t strip out the stability augmentation systems or at least corrupt the software.

I'm sure we've left piles of parts, and it's already been documented that we've left pallets of cash. With all of the other classified data that's been left behind for them, I'm sure they have service manuals and enough spare cash to buy some Chinese help. Hell, why don't we throw in a few F14 engines for Iran while we're at it, with $100 bills used as packing material in the crates.

I'm sure they've got some homegrown pilots plus the Chinese have a copy of the Blackhawk and I'm sure they and the former Soviet bloc countries have plenty of people who can fly and maintain them for a paycheck. Same thing they do in the Middle East, African countries, etc.- just hire people to do what your own can't. I'd bet money we left a pile of parts there and even though it'll be limited, they'll be able to pull parts from others to keep a number of them flying for years. With as much money as we apparently left them they'll probably be able to buy parts off our "allies" that we've sold Blackhawks to as well.
