If you're black and from Jamaica, you're "Jamaican". If you're black and from Nigeria, you're "Nigerian". She is not from Jamaica. She was born in the United States, and one of her parents was black. That makes her (at least partly) African-American - in the same way Obama was African-American. He had a black parent, and was supposedly born in the U.S. Plus, the term African-American is just the new way of saying "black" - it mostly came into vogue because some blacks in the U.S. didn't want to be referred to as "black" and in many ways it refers more to appearance than to anything else. Someone like Elon Musk is clearly an African-American, but most blacks would laugh at the notion and say that he is not. |

Gargle reports her name as "Kameltoe Fellatio". It rhymes for political purposes. ??

Some have argued she cannot claim to be African American as she does not share a culture with the descendants of American slaves. |

Past performance under similar circumstances is the best predictor of future performance.
Since she sucked and fucked her way to the top of the parasite heap, Joe Biden should be given daily injections of testosterone and viagra so that she can keep performing adequately. Someone get that ho a dick to suck! |

Yeah, her dad looks black in the same way Obama looks black. That said, if I was describing her dad to someone who had never seen him, I'd say he was African-American, albeit light-skinned. |

I would have thought AFRICAN-AMERICAN meant you were of long rooted African descent here in the US, as in prior slave stock. Is that not the case any longer? |

Quoted: I know. The whole African-American thing has NEVER made sense. I always check the African-American box on all university/HR forms I am asked to fill out. I hope one day someone calls me on it, because I would love for them to explain to me how they DEFINE African-American. Because there is no definition. There is no LINE between what is an African-American person, and what isn’t. It’s purely a “I know it when I see it” and “it’s what I want it to be” kind of concept. The funniest thing to witness was when people got angry at that white girl who pretended to be African American a few years ago. It literally made no sense at all. View Quote |

But, its unfair to require her to "pick one"........... I have Irish and UK passports. And will have a US one asap. I have Irish qualities and I have British qualities. No doubt once I have been in the US for a decade I shall have US qualities. Sure - if your great grandfather, your grandfather and your father were born in the US and you were too - maybe your nationality and extended family tree is less fluid. But lets face it - unless you are 100% native american, you are descended from immigrants / settlers. How many generations need to pass before you stop being Dutch, African, Irish, German or whatever and become American ? |

Kamala Harris is NOT African American, but her family owned a few Africans.
Text from Kamala's father My roots go back, within my lifetime, to my paternal grandmother Miss Chrishy (ne Christiana Brown, descendant of Hamilton Brown who is on record as plantation and slave owner and founder of Brown's Town) and to my maternal grandmother Miss Iris (ne Iris Finegan, farmer and educator, from Aenon Town and Inverness, ancestry unknown to me). The Harris name comes from my paternal grandfather Joseph Alexander Harris, land-owner and agricultural 'produce' exporter (mostly pimento or all-spice), who died in 1939 one year after I was born and is buried in the church yard of the magnificent Anglican Church which Hamilton Brown built in Brown's Town (and where, as a child, I learned the catechism, was baptized and confirmed, and served as an acolyte). The only thing that should matter in considering a political candidate is how strongly they believe in the principles the country was founded upon, and how effective you believe they'll be in promoting them if elected. Male, female, white, black, brown, Baptist, Catholic, right handed, left handed... all just noise obscuring the real qualifications. Biden announcing ahead of time that he was going to choose a minority female for a running mate without knowing specifically who he had in mind should have deeply offended everyone in the country. It was an embarrassing display of ignorance and insensitivity that should have immediately disqualified him for candidacy. |

I guess we get to find out just how much respect liberals give towards sex workers since they got one running as a VP candidate.
