Perhaps better - seemed more fresh, but admittedly less seasoning. Maybe you went to a shit location? You're saying the mechanically separated chicken sitting for hours under a heat lamp is better? LOL |

That is enough for 2 people. Not a fan of canes, too bland, but sometimes I’ll get it bc it’s real chicken and close by and dip in buffalo sauce. You think that’s high? Wait til you pay almost $4 for French fries at McD’s. Went there first time in ages for just fries. Almost $4. Never again.

Cane's is fucking delicious. But I eat there a lot less now that the chicken's much smaller and prices are higher.

There’s a chicken shortage coming
Covid plus paying people to sit at home But now we’ve got a few more million illegals coming in , and the chicken producers will be paying all of them under the table and probably at sub minimum wage and 12+ hour days. But the FDA inspectors won’t give a shit |

its hard to get decent chicken these days. good quality stuff on sale is still over 3 bucks a pound. even the 85% real chicken in the big box packs is 1.49 on a buy one get one deal.

I would go there more if I could just get a box of chicken and a water. I don't need a lb of fries and bread.

They just opened one here last summer.
Ate there once and that’s only because a friend was buying and she was willing to sit in the the hour long drive thru line. Meh. Very mediocre. Don’t see any reason to go back. |

Foosackly's is way better.
I would say their chicken fingers are better, their coleslaw is better, their fries are better, and they have like 5 or 6 made in store sauces. You can get your fingers buffalo style (coated in their buffalo sauce) and have some ranch with them. You can add bacon and queso to your fries. Their customer service is like Chicfila as well. Canes sauce is slightly better than Foo Sauce but as I said Foosackly has 6 sauces. Canes toast is also a little better. Foosackly's is a small southern chain. Expensive for what you get now, but everything else will be shortly too.
I tend to like Zaxby’s better. Wife likes Slim Chickens, I’m fairly meh on that one. |

$1.49/ lb boneless skinless breasts at Lidl. Some assembly required though.

Wasilla has one of these places. Im guessing I will have to try it out.
Ill have to go when I dont have the dog with me. She loves chicken and this might be what puts her over the murderous edge. |

Canes has always been an expensive “splurge” type fast food place for us. Just like Arby’s and Culver’s
But yeah, all fast food is going up. Remember what tacos at Taco Bell used to cost |

$12.29 for an entire days worth of calories doesn't really sound that bad.

Perhaps you just frequent ghetto ass gas stations without decent food. I stand corrected. To be fair I haven't touched gas station food in ages, I learned to avoid it many years ago. It's always chains that have the same cheap Sysco food that's been sitting under heat lamps for god knows how long. *Exception I did have a sandwich at Buc-ee's a while back, which I totally forgot about. Not bad. |

The chicken strips used to be bigger. You could get full from a 3 finger meal. Now they're tiny.

I've had Zaxby's many times in North carolina. I've had Zaxby's four times in Texas and canes twice. Little Zaxby's in Texas was better than both locations of canes, but the Zaxby's in North Carolina was better than the location in texas.
Popeyes is always complete garbage, just like their employees and 90% of their clientele. |

The wholesale cost of boneless / skinless chicken has more than doubled since January of this year. My bulk price was $ 1.05 a lb in early January. My cost this week for the same cuts, same amount from the same supplier was $ 2.25 a lb. I buy and sell a lot of chicken, and track the prices closely in order to remain a competitive supplier to my customers.
But there is no inflation, and you are crazy to think there is. |
