I wonder how you feel when someone dies of the alcohol you love so much I have three uncles on my late mothers side who basically drank and smoked (cigs) themselves to death... One caused a huge loss and kinda wrecked the family dynamic we had going my whole childhood and early teen years. I miss my uncles greatly, but they were all counseled many times over the years. They chose the alcohol over family and life, so be it. I don't hate them for it, but i really wished it could have worked out different. This is also one reason I choose to drink much less than I did in my early 20s and try and keep myself in check as I age. |

In high school me and four of my friends went to a cypress hill concert at the Fillmore in San Francisco.
We get in there and half of the crowd is smoking weed, so I say ok and light up a cigarette. Security comes over to me and tells me I have to put my cigarette out because it’s not allowed. Lol. Cypress Hill - Hits from the Bong (Official Audio) |

Yeah...there might be a little more to it. The total collapse of all traditions, values, individual agency, family, and community probably made people more desperate for escape than a dumb pop song.
It has nothing to do with the breakdown of the family, lack of personal responsibility, and divergence from Christian values.
People do drugs because of a twenty five year old one hit wonder? Yep, that adds up. |
Dude, that song ROCKS. Good Lord that brings back good memories.
Lack of personal responsibility requirement. Societal enabling. Treating it as a disease , instead of a poor decision creating the victim mindset. Liberalism.
