Single cab long bed? Sure, grandpa. Did you remember to take your pills before bed.
I used to love the extended cab short beds when I was a kid. With a small lift, it was the epitome of what a truck should look like, to me. My tastes have change a bit, but I still like them. |

View Quote Nah, I was always an extended cab kinda guy (and now quad cab). The proportions on an extended cab short bed are "just right". Doesn't change the fact that I want an extended cab long bed, though. |

Had one like in the 2nd pic. Decent, but the next generation was FAR better.

I had a 92 Extended Cab. No one ever told me it was the best looking truck in town, like almost everyone said about my Red 1986 Short wide bed.

If you were a guy in the mid 90s and didn't have a hard on for an extended cab Z71 with a 5.7 V8 something was wrong with you.

Concur. Love the single cab. But I'm not one of the crowd that expresses masculinity through truck purchase price.

I like the two tone that was popular in the 80’s and 90’s. Especially the blue and silver fords. I had one come through the shop recently on a modern super duty and it looked really good

I had a 1995 in this color combination but it was a step side. Cowl hood, a lighted visor and no mufflers after the cat. Loud as hell and I liked the looks of it. |
|
I had a ‘97 3500 5.7, 5-speed. That truck went for who even knows how many miles (speedo was unplugged to defeat the ABS) and was as reliable as a truck could be.

Now I'm going to sound like a geezer, but I don't care for how techy and fancy new trucks are. I love the power of new trucks but the simplicity of the older ones. |

Any stepside made after 1954 should be wiped off the face of the earth and stricken from the history books. |

Quoted: Yes but 2500 with the fender flares https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse4.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.LI08SYs-6HT2x6hBicUGJgHaFj%26pid%3DApi&f=1 View Quote My 92 (might have been a 93) was the "light duty" 2500 with 6 lug wheels instead of 8. I did however put about 250K miles on it and it took a bunch of starters, alternators, one transmission and both front bearings and umpteen brakes. Oh and a ignition switch that stuck in the on position and wouldn't turn off. ETA When the alternator seized, it killed the engine and would barely let me move it out of the road. |

Yes, I just sent my ‘96 GMC Sierra Z71 with 325K on the clock to the scrapyard. (salt destroyed the frame) I hated to see it go. Attached File

GM blandness
1st and 2nd gen Dodges and OBS Fords look better. |
|
My first new truck was a '97 gmc 1500 z71 I ordered from the factory and took possession with .2 miles on the odometer. Man I loved it I'm an 79-87 square body guy at heart but would love to find a '97ish to fix up a bit and make a reliable vehicle out of

GM’s secret has been discovered. Good looking self destructing shitmobiles.

Round headlight GMs are vastly superior.
Ford and Dodge produced a sharper looking truck than the GMT 400 but it really is hard to find an ugly 80-early 90s full-size truck. |

I respectfully disagree. However I liked the prices better back then

That rubix cube stereo you couldn't replace when the buttons crapped out.

For sentimental reasons, I'll have to disagree with OP and suggest that the previous generation of square body Chevy trucks were the most iconic and the best looking, as they looked exactly like what a work truck or farm truck should be. |
