Gmt-400 is cool.

But you spelled 72-79 Dodge wrong.

Interesting fact - Chevy drivers will drive GMC's but GMC drivers won't drive Chevy's.

Still have my 98 Z71 Silverado. It’s a beater and and doesn’t look great but runs and keeps the dirt off my daily.

Plus it has lots of memories in that old truck.

I disagree.  Those were some of the ugliest trucks GM made, except for the 70's and 80's models.  I worked on Chevrolet trucks at a Chevy dealer during the 80's.  While we thought Chevy was the best pickup, and they outsold everybody else, by todays standards they are absolute junk.  They weren't too great back then either, we always had plenty in for repairs of every sort.

The best looking pickup ever is the 2009-2018 Rams, with the 2019 and later running a close 2nd.  Nothing from GM is even in the running for looks while Ford is a distant runner up.  Toyota never even made it to the gate and Honda isn't a truck.

Mine had a factory cassette player that was basically something that could have been controlled by the passenger much easier than the driver.

Not bad for GM products.

When I was growing up, my cousin drove a black Yukon GT similar to the one below. I still think it's one of the best looking trucks/SUVs GM has ever made. I'd buy one today if they re-released it.

I had a 1988 1 Ton with a 454 and T300 Transmission. Had airbags on it and could haul anything. It was a great looking truck. Black and silver 2 tone with Alcoa wheels. Should have never got rid of it.

Short Wide Bed = 6.5 feet
Long Wide Bed = 8 feet

But what dimension is "Wide" in reference to?

Was there also a "Narrow" model available to choose from?

That’s some "Double Wide" terminology right there...

I'm a Ford truck guy because reliability matters and Ford has never let me down while every GM product I've ever owned has been trash.

Having said that those were the best looking trucks with the most comfortable and well laid out interior in that time.

Not long ago I was rolling my Peterbilt through San Angelo, Texas and some God among men was rolling a mint regular cab, manual transmission F350 4x4 diesel of a similar vintage.

I should have forced him off the road and offered him a huge stack of cash at gunpoint.
