With every service I use its still cheaper than directv Pluto Tv (same as tubi and some others) is a great free app. If you enjoy old tv it’s great (Gunsmoke, Star Trek, Adam’s family… it has channels for those). And some “current” stuff like bar rescue and forensic files. It’s quite a potpourri. We have YouTube tv but pause it frequently since it’s 70-some bucks a month and you get back to regular cable prices at that rate. |

Quoted: To be fair, I'm also researching it because my parents are gonna have to make a change as well, and given their age, any kind of change that involves technology is going to be a royal pain in the ass for me. I couldn't tell you the last time I watched a local news broadcast, but they watch it every night, so that's one thing I have to make sure is available. Honestly, the only thing I've watched on broadcast TV in the last couple years was Auburn football games, so I'm not terribly worried about it. My cable provider is apparently discontinuing the TV plans they currently offer but are offering a discounted YouTube TV subscription for 12 months as an alternative. From what little looking I've done so far, YouTube TV doesn't look like it offers very much that I don't already get with my current Philo subscription. Am I missing something? Missing something like paying $50 more to Youtube than Phil costs? I had Youtube TV for a while. We dumped it when we gave up sportsball and news-inspired media entertainment and propaganda, Pooph! bitchez To be fair, I'm also researching it because my parents are gonna have to make a change as well, and given their age, any kind of change that involves technology is going to be a royal pain in the ass for me. It's a huge pain in the ass though to train them how to change between streaming system and antenna inputs on the TV remote. In the case of my MIL, she's a flaming asshoe and can continue to pay $225 a month for Spectrum cable and internet. If she can't turn on the TV and have fucking Hallmark blaring over all conversation in the room, it's a fight. All she's capable of is working the power button and belittling other people. |
