The number of cases is meaningless. Hospitalizations and real deaths are what's important. Quit spreading the scare BS.

Stop testing and stop reporting the numbers. It'll surely go down and away on it's own.

wait, we had 14,000 hospitalizations in one day? or was that overall

There's 88 in my county. Like 30 are in the prison and 20 are migrant workers picking melons. I think we'll be ok.

While the number of new cases each day continues to rise, all eyes are also on the percent positivity rate and the number of people being tested each day. As of Friday morning, that rate for new cases is 13.05 percent, an increase from Thursday's 8.72 percent.
Thursday marked the most test results the state had done in one day with 71,433 |

I’d like to see the state numbers if you strip out Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade counties from the total. I’ll bet you they are quite different. Those three counties were originally left out for the phased reopening plan because they didn’t meet criteria, but they whined a bunch and reopened anyway. This is the consequence of letting those counties reopen along with everyone else. They are dragging down the entire state (in many ways).

Wow. The number of New cases is almost exactly to the number of people at the Trump rally. The only problem is that the timing is a Lot off.

FAKE NEWS: Here is the day to day data.
https://tallahasseereports.com/2020/06/24/two-charts-show-positive-trends-for-florida-in-coronavirus-battle/ Daily hospitalizations from Corona are running at 200 per day. Fatalities are the same as in April. The only change has been more positive tests. The media prefers to call them "cases" which has a more negative implication. The average age of positive tests is now about 35 years old. Hospital stays have fallen from 6 days to 4 days. |

First it’s “heathy adults don’t need masks” and now it’s “everyone should wear masks.” If they lie about that they’ll certainly lie about the total dead. |

The reopening of the state wasn't because cases were going to STOP, it was a reflection that you cannot shut down the economy and throw millions out of work over COVID19. The governor and everyone knows that cases would rise; it's a question of balancing the economy versus the spread of COVID19. Only Doomers and the newsfaces are surprised there are more cases being reported. It's all about accepting a certain level of risk balanced against economic harm, and the Doomers and newsfaces refuse to understand that. |

You guys do realize they are testing anyone that walks in a hospital.
Also we are learning that a hell of a lot more folks have Covid but dont have symptoms. |

I wonder if there is a field of science that studies this, perhaps this is something new in viruses? |

I've been seeing numbers from a major hospital in the area, and there's been a definite uptick in hospitalizations. Roughly speaking, for the past two months they were running about 15-25 new hospitalizations a week, and that suddenly went up in the past week by a factor of about 4x.
Two months ago they had half a dozen infected staff. Two weeks ago it was about 20. Now it's well over 100. The numbers I've been seeing all indicate that there's been a massive uptick in the past ~3 weeks. Deaths don't start showing for 2-3 weeks after the cases increase, roughly speaking. *If* the new patients are all younger, then it might be even longer before those that won't make it wind up dying. But we all know the goalposts will shift some more, and if the death toll suddenly starts climbing to 500 dead a day, the new reaction will just be to compare that to cancer, or the Battle of Kursk, or claim it's all a democrat plot, or space aliens...anything but to admit that this might be a serious problem. |

The reason for the increase in positives are due to the increase in testing. It's all about the % rate positive. We've had much higher % rate positives in recent days but that doesn't make good with the MSM. Either way, my philosophy is, if I'm going to get it, I'll get it. Not going to worry about it. |
