Ann Arbor is a whore. That’s all I got. Good looking sammich though those killer sandwiches always fall into 2 categories. 1 you live local and can go home and sit down and enjoy a ball game and just enjoy being full and happily dosing off. The second is your still a ways off from where you want to go and spend the rest of your night trying not to fall asleep behind the wheel and die. |

I almost cried when the SC closed in Tecumsch because I'd always stop on the way back from Cabela's in Dundee. Hit the wine and cheese store on the main drag, then Basil Boys for pizza or garlic bread sticks, then pick up some SC ice cream across the street. Once the wife figured it out, I could never go by myself as there are also antique shops in Tecumsch along with a farmers market in the summer. It was no issue as she had no problem wandering around Cabela's with me and never gave me shit about buying a gun. [and I honestly got some fantastic deals there] |

There is a Chinese place [hole in the strip mall] across the street behind the main hotel that is absolutely fantastic and if it doesn't fill you up, you're probably on ''my 600 pound life.'' Overlooked a lot but the wife and I would ''fight'' over that or Basil Boys. |

Honestly, the best barbecue (and jerk chicken) is cooked in a parking lot or alley behind a weave shop. I found quite a few in Warrendale, but since I moved I haven't been through in years. Evie's tamales and Mi Pueblo ate great. Louis pizza in Hazel Park is great. Polish Village and Hungarian Rhapsody are good too. I

I like food. Slows is evidently #1 for BBQ but I've had very good 'cue at the Union Woodshop and some solid stuff at Bad Brad's. Is it Southern BBQ from the holler? No, but it's quite good, done right, and saves you the drive down South.  For authentic Asian food there's a big enclave in Madison Heights. Great noodles at Ima and I need to go to Edamame again. |

I like food. Stop into Klavons in Vandercook Lake [127 south] and get any pizza. You'll thank me later. Mexican place called Lucero's is right next to it, VG food and free chips and home made Salsa. Then go down 127S toward hudson past the Adrian turnoff about a mile and stop into McAuliffes Meat market. You'll thank me again. |
