I grew up near NAS Oceana and we watched TOP GUN as kids all the time. I even remember seeing two of the F-5 aggressors painted black fly over our house while in their landing pattern. My brother and I were in awe.
So yes I will watch this movie in the theater. |

View Quote Future Navy F/A-18 replacement F/A-XX seems unlikely to require a pressure suit, but USAF's Penetrating Counter Air stealth bomber escort might. Concept art has been out for a few years, I recall a few months ago somebody around here looking at a surge in related budgets and suggesting that prototypes might make their first flight in a year or so. Inserting one in the movie would be tier 1 salesmanship and propaganda. Only problem is that the Navy is supposedly not involved in PCA. That's probably true of Aurora as well though. Could be 100% fictional, but that seems out of character for Top Gun, at least for US aircraft. |

Near the end of the movie he will introduce a new Top Gun, and it will be a female and she will save him, proving herself..... sequels will ensue.

Upper handle is the face curtain handle. The lower between the legs handle is for non-curtain rocket ride. When I did the ejection seat training we did both. Given my choice I would take the face curtain handle every time. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

When Goose pulled those black and yellow "cords" or "ropes" up top, I thought those were like connected to a "curtain" of sorts that got pulled down over the pilot's or RIO's face and upper body??? Speaking of Goose's death, and yes, we know Top Gun is a movie, the entire theatre audience was very sad, with some sniffles in there. It was a sad movie scene.

Damn it, I want them to recommission the USS Enterprise for this

Came for the jets. Stayed for the 15 min of gah sex scenes.
You just know it will be true too. They cannot help themselves. |

It will be revealed that Maverick was Ethan Hunt the whole time. What a twist!!

I choked up a little. I've been waiting for this for 34 years.

The SR may be in the bone yard and on many a stick across the fruited plain, but the U-2 is alive and well, as in still flying and Not Dead Yet! That's pretty much all I got, bye. |

Iceman sitting at the VFW bar in 2019 with his NAVY VET hat on, 20 years retired;
“Back when I went to Top Gun in the 80’s (when it was hard), we had this cuck SJW named Maverick. We’d all be doing man shit like hanging out with the guys playing volleyball with our shirts off and he’d be hanging out with our diversity hire woman cadre. What a pussy. He was probably gay, but back then we didn’t allow that shit. Fucking millennials and their policies. Lemme tell you about what it was like to actually fight back in the 80’s!” *slaps challenge coin onto bartop* |
