Quoted: Along comes Professor Buzzkill. What, you mean Schwarzenegger didn't spend years learning to fly a plane they called the "widowmaker," then fly it dangerously close to buildings in Miami? View Quote Dangerously close? They literally back it into a building. It's a silly movie, speaking from firsthand experience the Harrier can't do those things. The hardest working mechanics I've ever seen were Harrier mechanics. Keeping those things in the air is an incredible achievement. I'm one of those people who doesn't believe in keeping around hardware that mechanics have to kill themselves to keep operational. I'm looking forward to the retirement of the Harrier. |

Quoted: That’s one of those dumb, but really fun movies. View Quote Which is even more awesome because it was supposed to be a sort of tongue-in-cheek playful jab at action flicks. It's self-deprecating fun, while trying just hard enough to be a "real action movie" to still be entertaining as an action movie as well. It's a damn masterpiece, really. |

There's a real estate developer in the greater DC area that flew Harriers with the Marines and now owns a flyable unarmed one.

I never really looked at it that way but that explains why its one of my favorite action flicks |

I just wish that they had gotten some pretty instead of Jamie Lee Curtis.

Isn't ALL movies with military equipment accurate???
I mean look at how quiet suppressors are, they make every weapon shot whisper quiet. Submarines turn on a dime and spies can fly, drive and fuck everything with hardly any effort. |

One of those date movie questions. If they don’t like True Lies, they’re a terrible person.

View Quote I heard somewhere that they were working on a sequel when 9/11 happened. After that we are clearly not allowed to make comedy out of such things ever again. |

Looks like No https://www.impdb.org/index.php?title=Category:BAe/McDonnell_Douglas_Harrier_II In Battlefield Earth they fly them. In the Avengers one gets knocked around by Hulk. That's about it for Harrier scenes. So yeah, True Lies is in the top two Harrier movies, and it ain't #2 |
