Was my guess also. I've never been to Korea but just guessing somewhere there is a mandatory safety brief for new soldiers that says "Don't go over there" or could be titled "see that bridge with all the North Korean soldiers on the other side who want to kill you, don't cross it" Well, PV2 Snuffy Dumb Shit didn't listen. " /> Edited: one of two things. He will be fed and taken care of as the North says "see we are best Korea" or they will love him tenderly with some wires and electricity to nipples and balls for a while before handing him back. Unless he was kidnapped and drug accross the boarder I vote for 2nd option followed by UCMJ. |

A lone E2 crossing the DMZ? The NORKS didn’t mention killing anyone else. I’m trying to picture the situation where an E2 is sent on his own and I just don’t see it. Either his NCOs and officers completely hung him out to dry and deserve to be court martialed or he is the ultimate Carl and tried to pull off the BS that fell out of his mouth.

Quoted: "A US National on a JSA orientation tour crossed, without authorisation, the Military Demarcation Line into the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)." "The U.S. official told CBS News the troop in question was being escorted back to the United States for disciplinary reasons, but after going through airport security, they somehow returned and managed to join the border tour." View Quote So let me get this straight. You have a shitbird that has disciplinary issues severe enough to send him back to the States, and likely bust him down in rank. But instead of confining him to base or .mil jail, you let him go on a bus to the JSA?! Where he can literally run into North Korea if he wants? Maybe his CoC does deserve all of the ass-pain they're about to receive? Wasn't a similar reason why one of the earlier three US defectors went to NK? Because they were going to get jammed up at court-martial, and thought NK couldn't be worse than that? |

I had an E-3 who decided it would be cool to take his family and visit West Berlin one weekend. He was returned to me by the Bavarian Border police in cooperation with the 2nd Regiment of Dragoons. Lol, if the story is true that he was a shitbird on his way to getting the big green weenie I say let the Norks give him the big red weenie instead,

The demilitarized zone that separates North and South Korea is one of the most heavily militarized borders in the world. View Quote Bit of an oxymoron. |

But because it is illegal for a North Korean to have children with anyone other than North Korean, they kidnap women from other countries, then their children, or trained to be spies. |

I had forgotten that North Korea conscripts most people until they're 30, and that they're not supposed to have sex during that time AND they have to grow part of their own rations.

if he's a person of color he'll be made a hero and we'll trade five terrorists and 20 million $ to get him back. If he's a dumb white boy he'd best start on his Korean language lessons cause he's staying for a while.

TDC in 96 was only slightly cleaner than the Sunni triangle but by the time I went back in 07 they had a hotel and dependents. |

No way it was an accident. Also, the NORKs don't really want a US Soldier as much as any decently ranking S. Korean soldier. There's a lot of fuckery going on in PanMunJom (at least there was in 1991/1992 as they've tried to grab soldiers before), but even the ROK/KATUSAs that man it now can't be as bad as to let someone wander over.
Shitbird was looking for a change in scenery and is a fucking idiot. Maybe he'll join the Imjin Swim Team. |

I met a moron or three while enlisted but this dude takes the cake.
I got to view a class c JAG and it had to do with a young Marine who got into a argument with a higher ranking Marine. He walks out, punches a window and breaks his hand so they got him for both the window and hand which added up to a class C mishap. Made him a Pvt and sent him home with a OTH. All over a argument he couldn't win so he doubled down. |

Quoted: That’s not easy to do unless intentional and you are a little nutty. View Quote I don't know about that, sometimes people just do dumb things. There were a couple of sailors from VA196 on the train heading to China in 1967. They started out in Kowloon and were well into the New Territories heading towards the Chinese border when someone clued them in that they were about to cause an international incident. |
