Rock climbers are just as bad leaving their trash in every crevice of El Capitan they can find. They also leave it at the top of El Capitan for their leisurely walk down. When I worked there, we hauled 3 cargo nets full of garbage off the top of El Capitan one time. Could have hauled more but our helicopter had other flights to make. Actually called the bomb squad one time to blow up a PVC pipe bomb....it was their shit tube, guess they crap in it while climbing and then decided to just leave it.

All these companies like REI pushing bringing city folk to the outdoors deserve a bunch of the blame. It’s all about selling more of their profits and making money from them selling the outdoors life dream. Bring city values and behavior to the national parks, what do they expect to happen.
