You do know it's all an act, right?
Unless they start killing journalists on air, why does it matter if someone sells their entertainment business to the Saudi's? |

I guess kids like this stuff. I've hated it since I was 7 and found out I was being bamboozled.
What's hilarious is adults used to believe this was real. How can people be so silly? |

Quoted: I think a lot more of it has to do with the Vince McMahon sexual assault allegations. This sale takes the company private and no longer has to answer to the SEC. Could be, but they always need a leveraged angle…..so maybe the problem is bad enough and they got a smoking deal. |

Also, will wrestlers quit over the sale? There are wrestlers that don't participate in the yearly Saudi show for political reasons. |

View Quote Well, to be fair, we all love to watch movies, we know that shit ain't real yet people get caught up in them with significant emotional reactions and spend billions of dollars going to the theater to experience said reactions. This is just live theater..... really, REALLY bad live theater, but still theater. I think it's also fair to point out that when wrestling was at it's most popular, the "Attitude" era, there was plenty of shit that went down that WAS real. I think that mixture is what hooked people. I stopped watching a LONG time ago and every time i see a commercial where they discuss the latest drama, i really have no urge to watch because it's the same shit rehashed for the billionth time. |

View Quote I was too young back then and grew up with the WWF cartoon style wrestling where everyone had a gimmick day job...the wrestling garbage man, the wrestling hockey player, the wrestling racecar driver, etc., but was always intrigued by the old territory style wrestling and how emotionally invested people were. I recently got hooked on the 'Tales from the Territories' show on Vice...insane how people were so bought in that it was real that they would actually bring a firearm into the arena in hopes of shooting a wrestler that injured a fan favorite. |

Arabs do love wrestling. The afghans ate that shit up on AFN.
