We were relocated by my Company in Feb 1981, bought a house in Chattanooga TN. and the mortgage interest rate was 14%. We were so thankful because the 30 year rate went all the way up to 18% by October.
Those that don't remember history are bound to repeat it, enjoy your Biden Years folks. It is only going to get worse from here. |

Yup.
Carter SUCKED ASS and fucked Americans over. Biden is doing a repeat. Inflation is the worst tax you can put on people. |
|
Biden is worse.
Carter at least knew what day it was and seemed to care about the U.S. even if his methods were wrong. He also didn't have any fuck ups on the level of Afghanistan. |
|
I think Biden visited Carter early on (remember the photo op) to tell him he was finally going to take the heat off him for good.

I don't think the carter era was as bad. I don't know for sure, I was just a kid 9 years old when he was elected. I remember it well when Reagan won, everyone was glad to see carter go.

We're heading off the map this time, the Carter years will be a faint memory when the dust settles.

Far worse.
Jimmy Carter had bad ideas. Joe Biden has NO IDEA. |

on the bright side, the depression and malaise of the carter years directly resulted in the glorious reign of ronaldus maximus.

Carter was a victim of overspending thanks to LBJ's War on Poverty and Vietnam. That was also Nixon's inheritance and the flight of gold caused him to close the gold window (renounce the Bretton Woods Agreement). Unpegged from gold, the dollar devalued (inflation) which haunted Carter.
One thing about Carter, he loved his country but also had bad advisers. He asked about the Shah of Iran getting refuge here and his advisers told him to do it. That incensed the Iranians. The hostage situation was the final straw and the hostages could have been released earlier, but the Iranians were asked to wait until Reagan took office. BTW, Carter was relatively unknown but selected to run for office. Xiden was also selected and picked for us (via cheating & dominion). We're getting full bore globalist shoved onto our country that was supposed to have been done during Herr Hitlery's reign (but she lost and wasn't supposed to lose). |

No, we are not reliving the Carter years! Jimmy Carter had at least one living brain cell.

It’s going to be a great learning experience.
On a side note, maybe CD’s and bonds will become useful again. |

Maybe, there is a distinct lack of skinny people this time around.

At least Carter personally kept the schedule for the White House tennis court usage so that there was no infighting to use it.

Yes....we are reliving the Carter Years.
Jimmy Carter presided over double digit inflation and a prime interest rate that shot up to 18% and a stagnant economy that restricted growth over environmental concerns. He was also our weakest President when it came to Foreign Policy whose incompetency at foreign policy was rivaled by Barack Obama. Jimmy Carter like Biden very foolishly thought that sanctions and trade restrictions would work against the Soviet Union after their invasion of Afghanistan. One had only to look at the effectiveness of Sanctions and the consequence of those Sanctions that FDR implemented against Imperial Japan prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor and the sanctions against Germany and the resultant sinking of the USS Rueben James by a U-Boat all prior to America's involvement in WW2. Sanctions do NOT work against a major power let alone a super power. They may work against a 3rd world country with a very tiny economy. It is unclear how high inflation will get under Biden although it is now in double digit range of 10%. It is equally unclear on whether or not the US will get into a major war with China and Russia. But one must remember the defense cuts that were made by the Obama Administration (chopping the production of the F-22) and the downsizing of the US Navy by George Bush Sr., Bill Clinton at the end of the Cold War... And the seemingly correct at the time decision due to the then threat environment of using the F/A-18 E/F Hornet as a 80% solution to using an Air Superiority Fighter like the F-14 and a bomber like the A-6 Intruder (the A-6 having greater range than the F/A-18 and the F-14 flying faster than the F/A-18) however replacing both of these platforms with one platform (the F-18) was a cheaper solution...and the Pacific was an American Lake...and the A-6 program was way over budget and behind schedule and it got axed....so the F-18 seemed like a good solution. However threat environments change...and the short range of the F-35C makes our carriers more vulnerable forcing them to operate closer to shore...and that reduces the amount of area of ocean that a carrier can operate and hide in. A draw down of forces at the end of the WW1 made the US more vulnerable at the outset of WW2. Similarly a drawdown of forces at the end of WW2 created a perception of weakness to both China and Russia and they backed the invasion of South Korea. Today we have a similar problem with NATO member states that failed to keep up their 2% GDP committment of defense spending (most notably Germany)...and how such countries were called out by President Trump...and the Press and candidates smeared Trump as being stuck in the 80's...flash forward to today... |

It was bad. Carter wasn't a bad person. He just demonstrated how bad democratic policies were. Biden is fucking evil. He/the dem party of today have the intent to destroy America no matter what it takes to do it. They are destroying America morally, culturally, and economically. Carter was the conductor of a miniature zoo choo choo train going around and and around. Regan got it stopped and back on the tracks before the destruction was too bad. Compared to Carter Biden is a demonic meth head engineer running a 100 car freight train wide open down a mountain. Brakes don't matter because he has no intentions of using them anyway.

Wrong.
Jimmy Carter was a America loving tard, who made dumb decisions. Joe Biden is a self serving, corrupt narcissist, who’s intentionally doing shit to hurt America, while getting rich in the process. Because he thinks he’s above the law, and royalty, who will be ruling over what’s left. He holds dumb positions and does make dumb decisions, but even those make him millions. He does not give a shit about America. Imho.. they want to take everything from you, they want to bring back the old shit with lords who own entire counties, own all the land and everyone living there pays rent to them, and can be booted out on a whim. That’s the future they see, constitutional rights watered down to whatever they say they are, given to faithful supporters, and denied to non supporters. America ruled over by American royalty, Clinton’s, Biden’s, pelosi, Feinstein, Obama, etc at the top, and their families trickling down in the power structure, but ALWAYS above the law and living large while everyone else struggles for scraps. |

In the Carter 'malaise' era we had high interest rates that at least benefited savers, we can't have that now because the gubmint couldn't afford to service its own debt (not that it can now, truth be told). |

This is way worse. Carter was bad but nowhere near this.
Xiden is intentionally depriving Americans of jobs, energy to have a functioning economy, financial security, national security, flooding our nation with illegal aliens, drugs and criminals with an open border, lawless crime ridden cities to name a few. His administration is a collection of unqualified and dangerous tokens making horrendously wrong decisions and placed there only to satisfy a small percentage of woke leftist clowns and not in the best interest of America. The Marxist Democrats are deliberately destroying this nation and Xiden is their front man puppet. |

Carter years wasn't good, but it wasn't on the brink of the dollar's demise as the world's reserve currency. We were still an industrial nation that made almost anything we wanted (Japan was just entering the car market around 1970 and the electronics & camera market then). Middle class very strong back then (unlike today). We didn't have GMO food or other nasty shi*t.

But we had some awesome rock and metal that came out of those dark years.

Also led to more gun regulations and out of control spending. So frankly I'd just take someone that would veto all spending bills.

I wish we were, but it's not even close.
Carter had to deal with the worst of the aftermath of the collapse of the Bretton Woods agreement, closing the gold window, Vietnam, declining US conventional oil production, and the implementation costs of the CAA, CWA, etc. The economy would have sucked those years even if he was better than he was, but none of those things posed the sort of threat current events do, and Carter's presidency wasn't considered illegitimate by half the country. There's also ZERO chance of an 80's style deficit spending/rate cut fueled recovery on the horizon. |
|

Carter didn’t cheat his way into office.
…spy and collude on the current administration …silence political discussion …Use Antifa to burn cities …paint Black Lives Matter in front of the sitting presidents home in NYC AND DC …say he had a plan to lead thru a pandemic….the plan was not to do a fucking thing. …tell us we’re gonna have food shortages Yeah…Carter was a far better president. |

Already way worse than Carter. I remember all the propaganda at school for Carter because, muh Teacher!
