I found more interesting reading for people to save and never read.
Was doing a search on how other countries conduct non-combatant evacuation operations (NEO), and came across British doctrine. Found an interesting little paper called Joint Doctrine Publication 04: Understanding and decision-making. A lot of the points should be familiar to people who have taken some form of leadership-managment training. From their intro blurb: Joint Doctrine Publication (JDP) 04 introduces the reader to conceptual frameworks for thinking, problem solving and building teams. It introduces tools and frameworks for practical application. It's formed into 2 chapters and begins by discussing:
The second chapter introduces a theoretical concept for thinking, then develops ideas about the factors related to problem solving and how and why we think the way we do. It also discusses building effective teams and concludes with advice for commanders. Joint Doctrine Publication 04: understanding and decision-making (second edition) |
