I'm just sayin:
Wouldn't be that hard to buy from someone or "bait" them with an irresistible price/deal for some particular item you already know they are looking for...then, depending on that individual's PERSEC protocol, you might be able to mine for more information using your communication/shipping arrangement. I don't know how it usually works to buy/sell on here, but I can picture some wacko libs being pretty devious and abusing it. But then again I know nothing about it or how transactions are done- just spitballing. |

So once in a while people will run scripts to hit the servers and scrape them for EE listings. Well most of the time, if they aren't abusive, we let them go. This was a case of someone with a script that got stuck on this specific listing and loaded it a ton of times.
The nice thing is the listing actually caught 3 folks who are now banned. So congrats, the view count will remain and you have 3 kills to your name. Running scripts to farm threads isn't the best thing to do and since people can't seem to behave, it's now back on the list to terminate these types of connections automatically, lock users, and ban IPs. This is why we can't have nice things. |
