The only thing I can think happened was the hammer caught on the seat as I was getting in the truck and pulled part way back and let go before it caught the lock and wham bam thank ya mam. That's why only OWB or shoulder holster for me. Cocked and locked or bust. Have a strong, positive safety selector and nothing mushy, ie change stuff out as needed ie strong spring/proud detent/safety selector.

Did I get here before everyone told him why this happened? Jesus OP, unfuck your carry method. If you're going to carry with hammer down, might as well have the chamber empty.

Based on all the condition 1 carry arguments I've witnessed here over the years, this could turn into a fun thread.

OP, I'm glad you're ok.  That could have gone all kinds of horrible for you.   I've been carrying a 1911 for years, and I really hope this makes you reconsider your decision on carry condition.

For lo, the OP did sin against the Word of the righteous Prophet John Moses Browning, and did profane the 1911.  For are not the righteous called to carry in Condition One, to the exclusion of all other Conditions?

Thus did the OP suffer the righteous scorn of the Negligent Discharge, and so were his garment and seat sacrificed to expiate his sin.

Therefore shall the OP henceforth follow the holy path of Condition One for the rest of his days, and also serve as an example for the rest of the flock of the 1911 lest they share his tribulations.

The gun has a safety for a reason, cocked and locked is the SAFE way it is designed to be carried.

Again, you are a lucky dumbass, in the future, know your guns safeties, and use them.

Let me retract calling bullshit. For some reason I assumed it was in your pocket. Not stuck in the back of your pants which explains why the hole is so high on the pocket and the bullet would have traveled from inside your pants and out through the pocket. My apologies.

>I had no idea how open bolt guns worked.
>He's showing it off to me I put a loaded mag it and decided to try and release the bolt (I thought it shot from a closed bolt)
>Pulled the trigger for some reason
>Shot 3 rounds into my wall
