A lot of people making videos out there on on gun stuff and tactics. Who do you listen to? Who find credible?
|

Mrgunsngear.
Shawn Ryan. Also Tony Cowden but i don't think he's on YouTube. I follow him on Instagram. Edit: He is on YouTube under his training business. Capable inc. |
|
Pretty much none of them. The signal to noise ratio got terrible starting in 2015. If you get past the hyper edited shorts of some guy ringing steel at 10 yards and the clickbait "Why 5.56 is dead, see the replacement", maybe you can find some good info. Forget about the comments too most people don't own guns or are total idiots.

Four Boxes Diner is hands-down the best on Second Amendment legal issues, cases, and SCOTUS.

I look for a consensus. I take very few single sources at their word without verification.

Quoted: Paul Harrell. View Quote This one right here. I’ve found honest outlaws opinions on handguns valuable. I have a hard time listening to much of what the others are saying. Most of them are shilling some product you must buy for this and that reason. Anyone who had a Springfield echelon review on the first day is a suspected shill. I used to watch a lot of Hickok45 but I don’t think he can say a bad thing about any gun and I eventually lost interest. |

Credible? None.
Everyone is a salesman, it's hard to tell where the pitch starts or ends. There are plenty with knowledge, a large number just selling products or themselves. What do you want to know? Would help guiding you to the answer. |

Modern Tactical Shooting.
I've learn quite a bit from his channel. |

Define "advice" first. It depends on what you're looking for.
There are several that I watch and get the information from. I just never take a single video and take it as 100% truth and make it the only video I watch. Like, I still watch MAC videos because I think he does a decent job with them and I think the information he gives out is relatively reliable. Travis Haley puts out a ton of quality information. Shawn Ryan has some great stuff. MrGunsngear is really good too. If I want historical info on it...Ian. |

No idea. I just watch them for entertainment. I buy whatever physical product and form my own opinion.

Oh, you can also pay for his videos, but in class form. They don't sell a SOTAR rifle? You know .the thing he tears apart and says "this does or doesn't meet spec"? Not a SOTAR fanboy, his content is so dry it makes Death Valley look like a tropical paradise. |

I don't trust anything I see on YT. Someone post his opinion and an idiot with Confirmation Baisis post it here like it was a burning bush telling the one true way.
|
|
None, because I don't look there for advice.
I use youtube for music videos, a way to share personal videos with family, once in a blue moon I'll use it to share a video here in GD, and I often watch stuff that is sent to me by friends, or posted here *after* someone else vets the video for quality. Society has long looked down on celebrities for many reasons. Youtube allows more of us to be celebrities. That did NOT help improve society. |
|
I learned all I need to know about the AR15 from people on this website and training at work.
I only watch a few gun related YouTube channels. Garand Thumb, Demonstrative Concepts LLC and some chick who does trick shots. Can’t remember her name. I subscribe to some others but rarely watch because it’s reviews of shit I don’t have interest in. |

All they try to sell you is MLOK grips and accessories. Over and over and over. |

Brass Facts is probably my favorite.
Risky Chrisky I will also mention a new guy trying to start up a channel, Trench Grenade. Good content. ------------ Go find local people to do stuff with. APC is great and if you find people doing hard things........ you might find that some of them know things, about things and will help you. |

The only example I've seen of this not happened is Phil Mcknight's guitar channel. |

I like to listen to what they say but I take everyone on youtube with a large grain of salt. Two exceptions are Kent Rollins and Chef Jean-Pierre. They get a pinch of spice.
