I know it's a southern thing, but is there really anything better than a double-decker Moon Pie? God's gift to snack cakes. I like both Chocolate and Banana...RC is good too for a change. Man, I love Moon Pies.... http://leftatthefork.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/RC-and-Moon-Pie.jpg View Quote |

I went to Nashville last month and ventured down to the Jack Daniels distillery, right by the JD gift shop was a Moon Pie store that had strawberry, those were pretty good but banana is still my favorite

This northeast guy likes moon pies. Don’t see them too often but when I do I’ll grab a few to treat myself and the kids.
Only if there was nothing left to eat. Even then you eat the cookie sides and throw the middle in the trash. Peanuts and a Pepsi was better.
Yeah, Moon Pies for dessert, but viennie sausage on crackers for the main course.
Granddaughter loves them. I keep the mini ones in stock for her. We share.
I haven't had one in years. Don't eat sugary snacks anymore.
I never liked any of that snack stuff... moon pies, little Debbie
In my early 20's I lived on Diet RC cola. I hated returning the bottles. Now I don't drink any kind of soda at all. Iced tea and coffee for me. |
RC Cola is just fine but I never cared for Moon Pies because I'm not a big fan of marshmallow fillings.
Around here it was banana Moon Pies and Orange Crush soda for some reason. |
I typically despise marshmallows, but a moonpie is an exception. Favorite way to eat it is a quick microwave and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, preferably Blue Bell.
I hear jokes about this all the time but I've NEVER seen anyone down this combo. Maybe I'm too far north.

View Quote She states on microwaving them, here's the protocol: 1) Use only chocolate MP's 2) 10-15 seconds and NO more 3) Must be centered in the microwave to avoid melting the chocolate. |

Every time I hear "arrah-cee and a moom-pie" I remember Brother Dave Gardner. CAUTION: Political incorrectness to the max! Bro Dave Gardner "Are you going to be here when JOHN get here?" The Motorcycle Story |
I ate a chocolate one the other day.
Haven't had an RC cola in a while, but I do like it. |
Hard to find RC Cola now (grew up on that pair), so I get a double decker moon pie and Coca Cola every time I go to Bass Pro.
have not had an RC Cola in YEARS!
I need to try to find one today and change that. |

Redneck coctail. We used to "travel" with the city-of-origin molded into the bottom of the bottle. Make a bet, usually with a nickel and the city fartherest away won the pot. View Quote Damn...I still have some bottles around here from defunct Coke bottling plants, I think I had one from Rockwood TN and Dayton TN. |

I like the banana not the chocolate and yes something about it going down with an RC just feels right.
I am a fan of both. If someone asked if moon pies are good I usually lead with telling them I broke my wrist for a box once. I used to be able to find RC cola 2L bottles in the dollar stores, but i haven't looked in a while.
We eat them with Ale-8-One. nanner moon pie and an Ale8 is pretty good.
I drunk a lot of RC growing up, even had it with moon pies pretty often. I haven't had a moon pie or RC in a long time. |

what's a "moon pie".. View Quote It is basically two very soft, graham flour cookies, with a slab of marshmallow between the cookies and then coated in usually chocolate or banana coating. |
