I ask because I saw the news (and here) talking about it before the landing ...
Then nothing... |

Maybe they found nothing that hasn't been found on the other side?

Basically, the same crap we found on the "near" side.
Good news: Some kind of cotton plant sprouted in Lunar gravity. LINK Their rover will be poking around soon. |

A Nazi Base Camp. In other Lunar News: Awesome arfcom images

It probably crashed and burned, and the government covered it up.
I expect the Soviet playbook to be used by China in almost every respect. |

That their studio doesn't rival the '60s technology used by Stanley Kubrick.

the lunar day cycle lasts a much longer 709 hours - roughly 30 days on Earth. That means it will be light for half of that time, roughly two weeks. |

Now MOS68W we all know the moon isn't made of green cheese.
But what if it were made out of BBQ spare ribs, would you eat it then? I know I would. I'd go back for seconds and polish it off with a nice tall Budweiser. |

Their probe probably crashed and they don't want to admit that they should have paid for better product QC.

Someone is already claiming it’s a hoax.

It's interesting how the "dark side" description has persisted all these years.
I remember, as a little kid in the fifties, watching a dramatization of exploration of the "dark side" of the moon. The astronauts were firing flares from orbit so they could see the surface. Hollywood. Sixty years on, most folks still think the side we can't see is in eternal darkness. So much for science education. |

Dark side of the moon? You do realize that the entire moon gets sunlight and a lunar day is 30 of our days. The moon has a side facing the earth and a side away from the earth. Differences are that close side has dark spots from lava flows caused by meteorite strikes breaking crust. Opposite side has a much thicker crust, (30 km, IIRC) thus no lava flows or dark spots. Thicker crust is thought to be from moon absorbing second moon on the opposite side or another theory is that hot earth melted the crust on close side, letting lava come through.

FOR FUCK SAKE. It's not "The Dark Side". It has freaking sunlight. It's called "The FAR side".
Dark Side of The Moon is a music album. I didn't risk my life setting up secret moon bases over there just to have people call it a stupid name. |

Yes I do but I am using the common turn to identify that I am talking about the part of the moon that never faces the earth. If I said the "Far side of the moon" other people would have bitched and sound just as condescending and smarmy as you. View Quote |

Nothing, so they planted their own flag and are now claiming ownership despite international law. The Chinese militarization of the dark side of the moon will commence soon.
