So I placed an order on April 2nd with Brownells that cost $404.40. Order is shipped and should be delivered tomorrow. About 45 minutes ago I get a notification from my bank that another charge for $405.00 hit my account and shows as pending. So now I have the one that has posted for the purchase amount and a pending that’s for .60 cents more… will the other drop off or are they having issues again? A search of the Google showed that some had this problem in 2022.

I’ve got the same thing going on with a Brownell’s order. Charge posted for order on 3/30, but a second charge for slightly more is also pending.
Similar situation with UPS just last week, two charges but the second pending one finally went away and never posted. |

It's an authorized hold. It should have come off once the charge went through. If the charge went through, call your bank and tell them to remove it. They will. I've had to do it a number of times from different sources.

Hell, I've been a dealer with Brownells for 20 years, and I can't even get logged into their site anymore... f 'em and feed 'em fish heads.

I'm surprised you were able to navigate their website to find anything to buy.

The sad part of Brownells is the declining support of gunsmiths with tools that work, a good selection of stones, and other items. Items that were available forever suddenly aren't. Then, there are the sorry handles on the 1911 frame reamers - bag 'em and buy a driver handle with a chuck from General Tools.
I haven't bought anything from the Sinclair side for years as it's too much trouble to dig through the site. I was a regular at Sinclair before the sale. Shipping is unpredictable, buy well before you believe you'll need the item. |

Best Buy does the same shit. Only one of them should actually get posted to your account.

They just cancel my orders now since I live in Illinois. Won't even let me send them to my second home in FL. Midway has no problem taking my money.

Customer service says the right things…. But that’s about it. They are trying to sound helpful but aren’t. So I spoke to a manager and was told they didn’t show a second charge or authorization. I found it funny that the second authorization didn’t show up until after the actual charge posted. I sent the proof showing the charges. I am awaiting a response.

I gotta say the new site design is really annoying me.
They've collapsed a ton of different items into one listing with a ton of selection boxes. You have to fill out 5-10 selection boxes just to figure out if they have something in stock or not. It is a ridiculously bad UI design. Attached File On the old site this would have been a list of different bullet types/weights with a clear indication of what the price was and what was in stock. Here I am 5 selection boxes in and I don't know a price or if its in stock yet |

The "new era" of Brownells arrived when Frank's son Pete joined the company in 1997. An educated and tech-savvy businessman, Pete saw opportunities to thrust the company even further into the technological age. Named Vice President in 2000, Pete oversaw the successful implementation of the Brownells website, www. brownells.com. This provided customers around the world unprecedented access to Brownells vast selection of products.

My membership here is all the business they will ever get and the only reason I do that is because of the Avila Family history.

I'll have Pete bring some beer over so you two can work things out like gentlemen.
