Its an insert that you cut out in the stock bumper cover, the car came like that, we will be installing a Cervinis Stalker bumper cover soon. |

My 14 5.0/6r80 has had zero problems other than recalled airbags. I replaced the 5x7's with some Infinity speakers and added a JL stealth box / Audiocontrol amp. Borla over axle pipes and Corsa Xtreme axle back. Nice cruiser.

Got a couple questions about gasoline...which octane do you guys use? Hi-test 93? Regular 87? Mid grade? Do you put any additives in it?
I'm a diesel guy so I really don't know the answer to them as it relates to these new 5.0Ls. The car will sit in the garage for about three or four months during winter, too, so that should be considered. |

Attached File As far as fuel goes - the 5.0 runs at 11-1 compression. 93 octane is best, but the ECM will pull timing to prevent detonation if you put regular in it. FWIW - I feed my F150 5.0 the highest octane available (93 usually). I recommend the following mods to get the best driving experience: 1. one piece aluminum driveshaft - this *really* improves throttle response 2. BMR rear control arms - they really do a lot to fix wheel hop and general floppyness in the rear end (the upper one is a pain in the ass to install but worth it) 3. BOSS 302 rear sway bar - see above 4. Bilstein rear shocks - the factory ones are 10 years old and sucked to begin with..... 5. Poly bushings for the front sway bar and new end links - the front one on these cars is already beefy but the rubber bushings are too soft 6. Bilstein front struts and GT500 control arms/strut mounts (I used MOOG and they were great) Then see if you need/want more horsepower - Tune, CAI, long tubes, etc. |

Quoted: I'd do the same and restore the original head unit. Dont bother monkeying with the ford insync system, its archaic and futzy. The only concessions to modern tech I put in my 2011 GT500 are a wireless license plate frame backup camera and a dashcam. View Quote Yeah, I told the dealer I wanted all the original stuff put back in. They showed me all the components and said they'd do it. |

I had the car pictures in the same color except no red leather I had tan cloth. It wasn’t the quickest but it was fun to drive. Sounded good. The 18 in my avatar is significantly faster.

View Quote Anything after '14 doesn't pop my tent, but I'm genuinely happy for you if you have what you want. FYI, the '13 standard GT I test drove last week is almost certainly much faster than the '14 I put money on over the weekend, but I wasn't interested going faster, I wanted something that was fun to drive, and the '14 with the lower gearing and louder exhaust provided that. I want the experience more than the top speed. I had a grin a mile wide while testing the '14 with the Track Pack...and that's when I knew I found "The One." |

Sharp car.
I know it sounds dumb but I’d like to find a 3.7 V6 with a manual. Would be a nice candidate for a angry snail. |

Looks like the previous owner put a muffler delete on it and kept the resonators

I was beginning to consider the idea of a 3.7L V-6 with a manual if I kept striking out with GTs. A 3.7L manual with upgraded brakes and a decent exhaust would be pretty nice, IMO. |

As much as I love mustangs I have grown tired of obscenely loud coyotes. My 66 with 3inch Black Widows was too ungodly loud as well. Had to swap to a glasspack type of muffler to take some of the edge off. Now, to get rid of that fucking dealer sticker. As for wheels, forgestars are a popular option. Forget what the common stagger is on those but I was 255 or 265 front and 295 rear on my 2005. |

Just catching up on a few threads and wanted to say I'm experiencing something that I haven't in almost a quarter century: driving just for the fun of it. Love the sound and rumble.
My wife bought me a license plate holder that says "The One." She also bought me a metal key chain that says the same thing. I have it hanging off the rear view mirror. I like the fact that the car is completely stock and intend on keeping it that way (except for perhaps the wheels and possibly exhaust at some point). The 3.73 rear is awesome. The one minor gripe I have is the Shaker audio system is kind of lousy. Meh. I didn't buy the car for the radio anyway. |

This was a fun thread. Keeping it out of archives a little bit longer. I hate to admit it, but it's looking like winter weather and road salt is shutting it down until spring.
