Remington 870 Police magnum-old gun with blueing and wood. Smooth as silk.
I grew up with Remington Shotguns and they are familiar. |

Quoted: I suspect most rioters could be dispersed pretty quick with a suppressed .22 used from a hide. Given the noise the rioters make a man could drop the ones in front in total silence and in the confusion pick off as many as he feels the need to at his leisure. Anything from a 40 grain lobotomy to "ow my balls" would be offered-up for his consideration. View Quote Didn’t the Israeli military use suppressed 10/22 rifles against rioters? Knees and gonads . . . |

An AR that has to be lubed just so, is full of tiny parts and springs, that may or may not be over gassed, that might or might not like a certain ammo, that isn't going to work if its caked in mud, etc. . Or A 590 SBS and a G17 that have literally none of those problems. But hey, some of us are realistic and some of us spend to much time comparing roll marks and asking if we're tier 1 enough. |

Out of what I actually own -

View Quote None of the problems you mentioned are platform specific to ARs. Shotguns have gas problems. Pumps have feeding issues. Every firearm has springs and small parts. Every firearm requires lubricant. With the ejection port closed, ARs are very dust/dirt resistant. The Myth of Over Lubrication |

Rem 870 w/ 00 buck. Large capacity mag tube. Side saddle pouch. Bright light.

No AR, I would really only fee comfortable with a semi auto mag fed 5.56 quality rifle, aug, favor, scar, ect. Honestly there is no reason not to have an AR at this point.
Shotguns have a place and that is hunting or door breaching. Wielding something that heavy and slow to reload with limited capacity is a death sentence in all but a couple scenarios. If your talking full on riot without rule of law scenario you would be very lucky to survive. |

No excuse for the rest of us, though. No need to elevate your optics to AR height on non-ARs. The poster above with his AR-mount scope mount above his carry handle. Are you part giraffe? |

Ideally something belt fed, even if it was semi-auto. In dreamland I'll take a M249 or similar.
In the real world; I think a 7.62x39 Draco is about as good as you'll do. I thought about a PCC like an MPX or similar, but the penetration of the AK tips it for me. Realistically; I think either one gives everyone on the other end a lot of second thoughts. even more realistically, a 10/22 with the freedom to use it in whatever way necessary would probably be enough for 99% of the situations. |
