My old pair is wore out. Was shopping for a new pair and my 17yo daughter says no way I’m too old (41). I call bullshit. Never too old for a good pair of Vans.

I was alive when vans were born.
That means I can wear vans no matter how old I am. |
|
I wear vans. I’m 44.
I also wear five tens when I’m on the bike. |
|
if you wore them when they were originally in style you should not be wearing them when they come back in - this will hurt when creepers make a comeback.

I'm 38 and I always have a pair of all black slip ons in my rotation.

I thought this thread was going to be about the practicality of driving a van. Would not be caught in one driving as a POV, but for work vehicles they and minivans rule!

At 36, I wear a pair of Vans Old Skools. Seemed to be what all the old man skaters wore when I was a kid
Guys in here talking shit probably wear white Skechers with Jorts |

I am 41, and can still kickflip, so I'll still wear Vans if I want to. I would rather have some Airwalk Ones, though.

True story: Two colleagues and I were going to the SFOD-Delta compound on Fort Bragg for meetings. Passed clearances in advance. Guy escorting us on said he need to look through our overnight bags for prohibited items before we came in the gate.
One of my colleagues was ~28 years old, Mr. Science type, marched to the beat of his own drummer. Going through his bag the Delta guy pulls out a pair of wierd Vans, hold them up and wryly says: "If I find a dildo with bite marks on it - you're gonna be in a lot of trouble." The other two of us almost fell down laughing. |

I have owned a pair black and white checkered Vans since 7th grade. That was '83 so it has been a few pairs.

Never saw the need for those. Also never been interested in wearing them.

38 and wear them. They're shoes. There aren't many shoes that I consider restricted by age.

Never.
Shit my 77 year old doctor of a father sports vans skaters around the hospital. Being doing so for 20 years once he figured out how awesome they are. |
|
I got my first pair at their factory store in Costa Mesa in 1973 when I was ten. Wouldn't mind getting a pair now for old times sake.

I'm 37, never skated. MX only.
I still wear etnies, dc, ogio. I like flat shoes. |

When I was a skater punk only posers wore Vans. Airwalk and Vision Streetwear were the shoes of choice. Now at 46yo I have a pair of all black Vans. I no longer skate because falling hurts but my kid is a regular at the skatepark.
