My first pair were bought out of the back of a truck at a BMX track in 1979. Whoever cleans out my shit when I'm dead will probably find some Vans to dispose of.

Never
Used to get them at their original store in Anaheim in the 70s, I’ve never been without several pair since. |

Quoted: My old pair is wore out. Was shopping for a new pair and my 17yo daughter says no way I’m too old (41). I call bullshit. Never too old for a good pair of Vans. View Quote Never too old. Tell her if she says that to you again, you're going to find her a step-mother that's 19. |

BLACK LIVES MATTER
We acknowledge that we have not been a strong ally nor spoken up on topics of racial and social justice. The unrelenting violence and racial profiling impacting the Black community is evidence that our society is only at the beginning of change. Going forward, we commit to take action that always supports equity and justice for marginalized communities. We want to share with you the decisive steps we are taking to support and elevate BIPOC individuals both inside our company and in the broader global community. Is this really a thread where one guy sits in judgment of other guys shoes?
Holy twat pounding on a pogo-stick! The cost of ammo is so high becuse they are putting estrogen vape in the powder! |
|
Quoted: I thought this thread was going to be about the practicality of driving a van. Would not be caught in one driving as a POV, but for work vehicles they and minivans rule! View Quote I figured out the real purpose of an accelerator pump on a carb was to pack the muffler full of a nice rich mix of gas and air. Turn off the key (and hope to the steering wheel didn't lock up ), pump the fuck out of the gas pedal, then turn the key back on. The entire city took cover in the fucking basement. Blew the damn exhaust system clean apart one night, which ended the reign of terror. |

I never cared for them. I've always been an Adidas or low top Nike guy for gym shoes.

Quoted: When I was a skater punk only posers wore Vans. Airwalk and Vision Streetwear were the shoes of choice. Now at 46yo I have a pair of all black Vans. I no longer skate because falling hurts but my kid is a regular at the skatepark. View Quote I kinda feel like I remember everyone wearing converse and vans all the time. You only had airwalks if you had money. Even when airwalks became really popular in the 90s lots of people wore vans. |

43, have two pairs at the moment. I don't care what others think.

We're in our 50s. My wife wears Vans and I just bought my first pair of Jordans.
Buy and wear what you like. |

Got six pairs, black and white checkered slip ones are the best

Had a VW van with a mattress in the back in the early 70's. I don't like Vans shoes.

I wasn’t chinese foot bound as a kid so I can’t wear any of the bullshit hipster shoes.

When I’m too old to skate to the pool with my kids/grand kids.

I started wearing them the summer between Kindergarten and 1st grade. Back then they were made basically local to me and they would have a huge sale on merchandise that hadn’t been picked up, at the LA County Fair. My mom would come home with oddball color combos that none of my friends had seen.
I’m close to 50 now and I’d definitely still wear them but I mostly wear Chucks. |
