I'm in my mid 50's.  I have a teenage son and a middle school daughter.  I've got a pretty good handle on their lingo.

You, between your title, and what you posted,  I have absolutely no fucking clue what you're trying to communicate.   Maybe its fucking YOU bro.

I was halfway through the first page when I realized the OP was talking about the actual three periods "..." meaning mad.
I thought he was using the "..." as a filler for some other phase or word (which is an appropriate use for it), so asking for different words or phrases that now meant mad.

I use it all the time here on the forum when quoting someone when I remove their text, showing I removed a portion of their message.
It is my college paper writing in APA format that burned that into my brain.

I don't care what they think it means, I don't need or try to keep up with what the new thing is. I don't text much anyway, and never use "..." in texts.
If me typing three dots makes someone think I am mad, then that is on them.
If I am mad, I will tell you.

I hadn't heard that one, but I've been corrected for replying Ok. Apparently that means you're made mad, and trying to cut off the conversation, and you're supposed to reply kk.

Never heard that either
I reply ok to my wife & kids.

I did not know dot dot dot was called ellipse until this thread.

No, ellipses mean the gods are angry.  The Aztecs used to sacrifice people to make things right.  Or something like that.

My 11yo says an ellipsis just means that you're thinking or that there's more info coming/needed. Doesn't have anything to do with being mad. Oh well. I'll ask my 13yo later, but she's usually mad about everything so I might get a skewed answer.

I've always used the three dots as short pause or "speech trailing off."

I don't see any good reason to think it means angry.

ETA: and of course to indicate "text was clipped out here."

I am confused by this post. Are you saying if someone writes something out and uses three periods in a row that means they're mad about something?

And for a related question, are you saying that you thought if someone writes something out and uses three periods in a row that means etc.?

Thanks.

On a related note, my wife thought you could use "TL/DR" in polite conversation to begin your summary of the other speaker's monologue.

I explained it means "fuck you, I stopped listening 5 minutes ago and pulled this out of my ass..." if you actually say those letters out loud to someone's face.

I think she'll have some awkward apologies to make to her coworkers on Monday. That's what you get for spending the entire summer on Tiktok.

I'm going to the store, run errands...

The dot dot dot after the word errands indicates similar stuff, like I might get gas.
My kid said dot dot dot means mad.
I have never used dot dot dot to indicate anger.

I have used it for years to end a sarcastic or joke line because I hate j/k.
