I have been wearing a black 5.11 RUSH 24 for the last 5 years and have been happy with it.
My sons backpack broke the other day so I lent him my 5.11. Now he wants to keep it. Are there other options out there that you guys recommend I look at? I prefer something not too tactical. The black 5.11 was decently covert. A friend recommended this: DIRECT ACTION Dragon Egg Tactical Backpack Attached File |

Peak design makes great bags, aimed at photographers, but work well for edc.

I have the larger direct action ghost. I carry it every day on a hour commute. I really like it, have stuff full of gym clothes/ shoes, keep the outer pouch full of EDC survival type stuff. Have had it about 8 months and havn't had a problem with it.

Vanquest Gear (would link, but they are down for maintenance for their Black Friday Sale)
Love my Trident 20l. The newest version is a 21l. Very well thought out backpacks and gear. Vanquest Trident 20 Gen 2 Backpack Review |

I have a Jansport Classic, a Ogio somethingorother, and a Camelbak HAWG if I take the reservoir out (and that's as tactical as I'll ever get).

This one has held up well for me. I use it for work travel, not hard use. They go on sale occasionally for $29.99 |

I have a Patagonia Chacabuco 30L and it's great for EDC. Separate laptop compartment and then two additional sections. Not tactical at all. My son took my LAPG 3 day pack after his broke and I have never gotten it back. I feel your pain OP.

I have a Vert-X Ready Pack 2.0 I really like. Not too small, not too big. I carry my 17" laptop, a small medical kit and a bunch of crap for work, plus my pistol and 4 mags. I was carrying a 5.11 Rush 72 before and it was a little too big for me.
I got mine from Warrior Poet Society and I also got the Med Kit from there too. |

Lbt day pack for an inexpensive nice pack.
I'm currently using a tad gear axiom 24 right now and love it. |

I vote another RUSH. I have one of the big ones I've used the shit out of as a range bag. For a decade. Throw it in the wash and it looks good as new. My EDC is a Rush 12 and it's got probably 3 years and 10,000 miles on it by car, RV, plane, and on foot. Also still looks new.

Just purchased my 2nd 5.11 Covrt18 backpack. First one surpassed a decade in use.

What do you want to carry in it?
MOLLE and paracord scream "TACTICAL." I've got a company logo'd OGIO laptop backpack. You could definitely fit an AKs-74u in there. |
|
Osprey Nebula.
Great size, well thought out design, fantastic quality, and best of all, not covered in MOLLE tactical shit. |
|
Osprey talon 22.
You say not tactical but then post a super tactical typical grunt gear wearing bag that screams look at me and my gun I have on me. |

Vertx Ready Pack or Gamut. They even accept ballistic panels and have a rapid access concealed carry system.

Recycled Firefighter has some cool bags too. All handmade in the U.S.A. The firehose wallets are awesome too.

Say what you will and spend whatever you want, but these hold up very well (on average, nothing is perfect) and are less than half of the Tactical Timmy packs. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/images/images2000x2000/jansport_typ79ru_right_pack_backpack_desert_1112260.jpg View Quote You can fit a split 10.5" 300blk in it |

5.11 packs for me.
Their new low vis series are pretty awesome and don't look tactical at all. The LV10 sling pack is what I use daily. The LV16 is their full size backpack. Just started their 25% off sale today too. |

Can't beat the 511 Rush 24 for EDC IMHO. Sale today at 511. 25% off site wide I think. Also, I just grabbed 511 Havoc 25 litre ( the Rush24 is 37l). They are on clearance for $55. Minus 20%, nice pack for under $45. They are down to sandstone color only, but wtf for the price. It's a good pack that's somewhat covert.
Or just buy a Rush24 at 25% off. https://www.511tactical.com/havoc-30-backpack.html Enjoy. Attached File Attached File |

Drago Gear Tracker Backpack. $51 on Amazon. Carries a good amount without being too large. Very comfortable to carry.
