I understand some people want that sort of thing, but I don't want to look at my back tires when backing up. I don't see any way to turn it off in the head unit. I guess I'll have to kill it with alfaOBD. |

No idea...
...yet another reason to dislike anything with 'newer' tech |

So you don't curb your bro wheels I guess?
Seems stupid on a truck. I don't even like it on cars. |
|
It’s so your wife doesn’t curb your wheels while backing up.
It’s my favorite feature on my Audi. |
|
So that you won't run over the babies lying in the street or some shit.

Google turning it off for your make and model. I turned it off in my GMC.

If the owner’s manual doesn’t show you how to disable the feature, ask your dealer to turn it off. There is often a dealer options menu in the head unit that requires a specific key sequence to access. The dealer’s menu allows them to set options not available to the owner.

Ram? It's under setting. Mine don't tilt down that much so I just barely see the rear tires when backing up. Love it for backing into parking spaces.

Just adjust them to where you want them in reverse. Makes parking along curbs and driveway edges much easier.

Quoted: 23 power wagon. It lives in the woods and I'm more concerned with backing into trees than crushing a toddlers skull under a back wheel or whatever the purpose of that is. I just don't get it. View Quote Did you trying Googling instructions to disable the feature? How to Enable or Disable Side Rearview Mirrors Tilt in Reverse Gear in Dodge RAM REBEL 1500 II gen? |

I do it manually. Just learned via this thread that newer shit does it automatically and pretty sure I'd be a fan.

On the one vehicle I've had that did that, if you put it in reverse so the mirror tilts, then adjust it, it will keep that adjustment for future tilts. Just adjust it back upward, then put it in drive, then try reverse again and see if it goes back down.

I don't know about the Ram, but every car I've had with tilting mirrors only tilts in reverse when you have the manual setting on left or right. If you have it in the center it doesn't tilt in reverse. I agree, they are retarded. They make it so you can't see beind you.

Bracing themselves for impact in case you hit anything backing uo [img]/images/smilies/smiley_abused.gif[/img
But seriously, its supposed to be so you can see the road and sides of your truck instead of further away when mirrors are in driving position. |

Enable, disable, or adjust the side view mirror self tilt |

so you can see the curb when parallel parking, so you don't curb your car.

So you don't run over your small child while backing up. Of course, you're not in Idaho so this may not apply.

Mercedes has done it for 30 years or so. You can adjust them while you’re in reverse and it will go back to that position each time.
It’s a throw back to pre back up camera days, so you can see the curb. |

I can't stand it. So many customers cars do it at work. I have no idea why anyone would want to be looking at the ground while backing up.
I'd unplug my mirrors if they did that and I couldn't turn them off. |

I came in here to tell you about alfaobd, but youll figure it out
Edit Good job |
