Was just thinking about now as I eat my Salmon, Egg and Cheese.
You rarely ever see fish incorporated into any breakfast dishes. Why? Attached File |

Because this is America.
And in America we eat bacon and eggs for breakfast. |

Smoked Salmon for breakfast is very much a thing. Just not very much an American thing. I love it.
I was in Jamaica once with a massive hangover, and one of the breakfast items was something like spicy greens and fish. It was amazing, and my hangover all but disappeared. |

I like fish. A lot. And salmon is good stuff, but salmon, egg and cheese?
I don't know man. |

Grilled fish, rice, and seaweed make a great combination for breakfast (in Japan, at least - wish I could find that around here).

Tradition.
Before refrigeration, people ate the fresh fish they caught that day and people weren’t fishing before breakfast. Breakfast meat were cured meats like bacon, ham and sausage that could be stored. |

I often put squid in my breakfast scramble.
Kale, onion and a couple of pork in as well. |

It's just not an American tradition unfortunately. Fried crappie or catfish fillets served with eggs and hash browns is frigging great. Ironically, the shit hole known as Cracked Barrel offers catfish fillets and eggs.

Buddies dad cooked me a blackened redfish omlette when I woke up hungover at his house back in highschool. I'll admit it was pretty good but I've never went out of my way to incorporate eggs and fish on my own.

Leftover walleye from the fish fry the night before is a fine breakfast.

Because we beat the British, there's no more need to eat kippers or blood sausage?
Granted, I swear I'm the only white guy south of Macon who misses salt mullet and cheese grits for breakfast at grandmama's house. |

Leftover grilled salmon with eggs is one of my favorite breakfasts

Pan fried redfish, scrambled eggs, sauteed onions in a pancake taco shell.

Salmon and lox is one of my favorites. I hardly eat breakfast unless I am travelling but when I do that is my goto

If they made fish Spam, might try it. On second thought, f... that.

Fish, except for tuna and mahi, mostly suck. Shrimp is good too. I want none of that for breakfast.

Location, location, location....
If you think about it, it makes sense. Maine has lobster out the gills, Idaho has potatoes. |
