Guess we had a warning issued. Turned on the news and they claim the national weather service confirmed a tornado SE of Springfield a little ways.

Heard hail in NW Ohio. Haven't been outside to see the effects.

WC just said five confirmed tornadoes in Chicago metro area last night.

I got the alert at 5:45am and looked at the radar and I was all in the clear as usual. Being just 10 miles east of Columbus is like being in a safety zone. 10 more miles east and shit gets real really fast.

I watched a small funnel form in the sky whilst standing with Dad in his driveway during a visit from college years ago. I said whelp, looks like it's time to go inside....fortunately it never touched down. When I was in middle school, we kids were made to huddle in hallways and could hear a tornado ?? in the distance that did some damage, although not very close to the school. It wasn't an encouraging sound. |

I'm Northwest of Dayton. Slept right through it. I did drive through a mess of debris near Wright Patterson AFB this morning on my way into work.

I didn't hear any siens here in NE Ohio. But I have been up since 3:30 on account of my dog going nuts and barking from the thunder and lightning.
I foresee myself taking a nap this afternoon ......most likely with that same dog. |

Woke up around 5 to some heavy thunderstorms but didn't hear much wind. Sunbury area
|
|
|
Mt Vernon area...had a blast of wind and rain for about 10 minutes.
Nighttime tornado warnings suck....can't see anything. |

Damage reported at WPAFB. One picture appears to show a radial engine laying on the tarmac.

Did you buy a new snow blower this year too? |

I remember back when the sirens going off meant it was legit and you'd better pepper your Angus. Now it seems they're pretty quick on the trigger with the things. Of course, I'm one of those idiots that hears the siren and immediately walks outside to look.

I'm in South Vienna and got the alert on my phone which woke me up that said a tornado is on the ground.
Looked out my bedroom windows (south and west) and was surprised to see lightning everywhere. Not time for that quite yet! It was raining really, really hard, and blowing incredibly hard. I saw in the weather report that gusts of 60 mph were possible. The wind really picked up and I wend down to the kitchen by the basement door. It turns out something touched down a couple miles south west of me, but being rural not a ton of damage. I read there was 2 inch hail somewhere east of Dayton. We didn't get any here. |

Man, that sucks! What was that radial engine from?
I’d forgotten how scary a Midwest tornado outbreak is! |

Slept through a tornado warning around 12:00 am last night in SW Michigan.

Quoted: What airfield is this? View Quote This is Area B on Wright Patterson AFB. The hangar that got messed up was one of the NMUSAF Restoration hangars. That F-104 and the other A/C parts (A-26 wings, fuselage parts, etc) are all kept in outside storage out in the open, hence they were tossed around a bit. Normally the 104's nose is pointed towards the hangar and its obviously been turned. Area B's Ramp isn't active anymore. The only planes that land here are for the Museum and they never leave. The vast majority of Area B is old repurposed buildings that now are offices. |

Then I went to tell the cleaners to hide. They're reaction "But then I won't get my work done! I'm gonna keep doing my work!" Same story when the fucking fire alarm goes off. Where I live in Ohio there are no sirens. Country life is the best life.

I had to drive across South West Licking County trying to get to 161E and it was nearly impassable due to a significant amount of downed trees. Massive trees just completely uprooted and downed. It seemed like there was a swath of damage that passed about 3 miles north of my house that destroyed barns, shed and a ton of trees.
We had barely any wind or rain at my place. |
