I would probably buy a seal gray 996TT to go with my black 996TT. Because I have problems. I recall 996TTs in the $40K range some years ago, then a spike as people realized they were smoking deals at the price and lacked the failure prone IMS bearing. Are they back down into the $40K area now? Quoted: 987.2 Porsche Cayman Also a great choice and truly a wonderful sports car. |

A/C Cobra aluminum replica, Super Snake style, with the mounts for a F/E engine. I already have a 390 with Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake with a 4 speed, so, it is an easy "yes" for the engine size. Dark Green with ghosted silver stripes, side pipes, etc...

Everybody has their own wants / needs / what makes them happy. Recently answered this $40k question myself. On one end of the spectrum was a Dodge Challenger or Charger Scat Pak. A little over the $40k price point, but an option. Other options considered - used Porsches of different iterations (been there, don't like the maintenance expense but loved the drive); used BMW's, and Jeeps. Wound up going with a Jeep Sport S Gladiator Max tow package. Sticker price of $43k, out the door at $39k. Couple grand in mods later, I have a truck that I enjoy driving more than my more capable Ram Power Wagon, and the PW is plusher, nicer ride, more capable off road but I like the Jeep experience, that's my thing. Two used Toyota RAV4's or two brand new Corollas...
or maybe a Tesla Model 3 if I'm feeling sporty |

The best value in used sports cars will always be a corvette. Performance per dollar they are impossible to match. Lap times don’t lie.

Partial down payment on my new house in a free state
I have priorities. |

I've owned many different cars, most recent is a Porsche 911. I've owned muscle cars, corvettes built off roaders. I've spent far too much on cars over my lifetime.
Most people would be surprised that my favorite fun daily driver was a 5 year old RX7 Turbo II. It was not in perfect condition, had a decent amount of miles but was cheap compared to some of the other cars I have owned. I had more fun and smiles with that car than any other car. I flogged it hard and didn't care where I parked it (it already had door dings). To this day it is probably my favorite car I've owned. My advice is get something fun and maybe less (much less) than you've budgeted. |

I’d buy a really clean 4th generation Honda Civic (88-91) do some classy mods and enjoy it.

Quoted: 2010 BMW M5 for $20k. Spend the other $20k replacing parts known to go bad over time. 507hp V-10, 7-speed paddle-shifted transmission. I drove one once, holy shit it was faster than God. http://www.bmwblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010-bmw-m5-1.jpg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnZVkdzXzFQ View Quote This is a very good answer. M3/4 is as well. I drive the same car actually and it’s great. It just has 6 fewer cylinders |

Can't post pics, but I bought a used Porsche Cayman S; 987.1 body style. Also a Mercedes SLK350.
Both are fun, comfortable, get 24 to 26 mpg. The SLK is a mechanical hardtop convertible. With the top up, it is as quiet as a sedan. Push a button and it retracts into the trunk and you are topless. Took the 987 to COTA with the Porsche club. Driving that track is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. I've driven on 9 different tracks and COTA is the best so far; still testing though |

You have to realize they are a heavy truck transmission...not something out of a Tacoma, and they worked very well for what they were and what truck they were in. |

I would spend 30g and buy a new brdm2 and the other 10 on a used corolla
