I told her, "the last time I checked, the Taliban doesn't have tanks or aircraft either - they wear rags, have little to no transportation, and still (with only small arms) - they haven't been defeated or given up." She had no response to that and walked away. Anyone else encounter this bullshit logic from the left? I find it more productive to have conversations with rocks since I’m far more likely to change their mind as opposed to changing a sick person’s mind YMMV |

Aircraft and Tanks require tons of fuel, logistics and maintenance plus their crews must exit those platforms. I am sure this is NOT a problem LOL.

That kind of reminds me of the vietnam vet I know telling me about getting shot at with bows and arrows as they flew over in helicopters.
I laughed a little at first, but he said it was terrifying to think if they will go against a helicopter with arrows, what wouldn't they do? |

If they are so worthless, why do we equip our soldiers with rifles, when clearly, there will be tanks and planes on the battlefield? Liberalism is indeed a mental disorder.

The fact that some people are comfortable with the thought of their government having the wherewithal to use tanks and aircraft against their citizenry, and in fact are more comfortable with that than they are with the thought of you being armed, tells you all you need to know about them.

I don't understand why these people think that someone who would go that route would be participating in conventional battlefield warfare in the first place.
I'm pretty sure that most of the rebels know that if they ever pull the trigger, they'll be discovered and either killed or captured with a quickness. So why would they waste that trigger pull on some random 20 year old military conscript? That military dude isn't the ones calling the shots. |

Why do they think tanks and aircraft should be used against Americans?
What if gun owners hide in Chicago or New York? Would Marxists advocate for leveling those cities in an effort to confiscate firearms? Armies don't just wake up one day and decide to start killing their own citizens. It takes direction. Direction that comes from politicians. Politicians need to will of the people to back them up. People who openly out their political affiliation on the internet for everyone to see. People who talk about their childrens schools, their spouses employer, their activities and churches.... Cut off the head and the snake will die.... But the inverse is true as well. Cut off the body and the head will die. If the people lose their desire to impose themselves on others, the political leadership will follow. |

The whole tanks and aircraft thing has always been a stupid point.
The general population is not going to support the .gov/.mil shelling their homes with an m1 abrams or their business/place of employment being destroyed by a warthog's strafing run. The fight would not be in rural empty space but in urban and suburban areas where people work and live. |

I've had that conversation before. I think the best response is to ask why every military in the world bothers with small arms if they don't work against tanks, and whether they're aware that anyone that paid attention in college chemistry can make all the explosives they need, if the time comes to that.
ETA, pictures from the Romanian revolution are pretty good too. Lots of small arms, virtually no RPGs/MANPADs, etc.

Make no mistake, a bunch of armed citizens with neutered ARs are gonna loose vs the might of the US military... but the destruction caused would be enough that there'd be no country left to rule, not to mention the military is made up of citizens itself who (hopefully) wouldn't exactly be willing to destroy their own homes/people.
