Sig M400 a couple months before Sandy Hook, when they first started making ARs.  ~$700 with magpul kit, a nice soft bag, and metal buis.  Grabbed a few cases of ~$300 brass at the same time.  Got really lucky with the timing, such pricing didn't come back for something like 2 or 3 years.

Took a long time to break in enough to eat weak .223 ammo, but is fine now, and it's always been an accurate shooter.  Have since swapped it over to free float.

Talking current day I prefer a midlength gas system pencil barrel with a lightweight rail and basic furniture.  Dumps range ammo just as well and is a pleasure to handle and shoot.

2007 Oly. 16” Bull Barrel. It’s what the shop had so I bought it. Put it back to original. It shoots well.
