I said it in the last SI thread about the transgender dude, I believe SI is being paid by liberals, whether in the form of government grants or private donations, to do this shit. There is no way the executives at SI could believe obese Asians and transgender dudes are what their target audience wants to see.

I don't understand---why is it ok---no, celebrated--when women are. . uh. . . chunky, ----but men are derided as "doughy", "soft", "pot-bellied", "overweight", etc, etc. . . How come you don't see men saying that they "don't hold themselves to any traditional standards of attractiveness or fitness" . .and being taken seriously for saying it. It's almost like a mentally challenged person, where you indulge their delusions---"Oh, yes, you are SO beautiful"--- then eyes roll. . .

I'm overweight, been overweight most my life, even when I was active: lifting, running, swimming, etc. After the covid shut down I pretty much stopped going to the gym/got lazy. Kinda ballooned up but that's no excuse. Just got my liver ultrasound results back and I'm at risk for fatty liver. How these fucking ham planets can try to justify this as healthy is beyond me. They will have liver failure/diabetes/heart failure before they know it. Their livers are probably on the same level as a chronic alcoholic with that kind of weight. Also they probably want to push socialized healthcare even though they would be the biggest burden to such a system and would make no effort to correct their behavior. Its important to keep moving, keep active, and try to better yourself as much as possible. Never did I think it was normal/healthy. The other distinct possibility, is that with internet access and all kinds of photos and videos of beautiful women available for free, the number of people BUYING these magazines is waaaayyyyy down. I recall lots of guys buying the swimsuit editions of SI in the 80s and 90s when they came out (remember when they had the edition where Heidi Klum and the other models were in bodypaint swimsuits? IIRC, that was one of their bestsellers). These days, no one needs to buy those to see pictures of hot chicks, either in bikinis or fully nude. In their desperation, they're literally trying EVERYTHING possible to find new markets/buyers by being 'more inclusive' and less 'exclusionary'. They realize there are a LOT more landwhales and hamplanets than there are women who look anything remotely like the models who used to be featured in days of yore, and those hamplanets don't like 'feeling' like they don't measure up to those models. Will the move increase purchases/subscriptions? I don't know. I'm not in mass marketing. |
