It’s good that they are offering them but I can’t see the value in it except for collecting.

Even the people that try to suggest the Bren 2 is “jUsT aS gUd”, no, and I have a couple of those too. That said I’ll take my not quite as good 8 inch Bren 2 over an almost 4k for a pdw scar 16, and I’m a huge scar fan. Fn is screwing themselves with the pricing model. 7.5-8 inch 5.56 are still very useful to 125-150m with the right ammo. Probably more but not tons. It’s much better suited to non-DI guns though,I think. |

So why is it a 15 and not a 16? Same with the 20 not being a 17 for that matter. Companies need to quit fucking up their own naming systems.

Once the dust settles, street price on these will be $2600. |

Yeah, I'm a SCAR guy and this would just be a collectable/toy for me. The price is a killer, new SCAR 16's I think are less.

Quoted: Pretty surprising that the MSRP is higher than the 16S NRCH, which comes with double the barrel material and a stock...nothing worse than paying more for less. Would have been intriguing in the low 3s, but at this price I'd just pony up the extra couple hundred for a 553SB and be slightly less deaf. View Quote I thought it was just a different check mark on the serial number forms kept by SOT for Title 1 and Title 2? |

I'm a huge SCAR fan (17S and 20S), but this is just retarded. The SCAR receiver is relatively tall, so even with the super short barrel, this is not an ideal platform for a PDW to begin with. It would make a LOT more sense in 300blk, however. I'm guessing it will be coming soon in .300blk, but we'll have to wait and see.

If this really is true, then that’s absolute BS and FN is stupid. Who, in todays world, wants a 7 inch 5.56, and isn’t going to put a can on it. And for that price- you know they are after swat teams and other .gov contracts. You think those people aren’t going to run cans? Wow. Warranty is void on full size SCAR rifles when suppressed. FN also increased the price of spare parts for SCAR rifles by as much as 500%. Want to retrofit your reciprocating CH SCAR to a NRCH? The parts to do it are $1500. If all of both of these posts is accurate...WTF. I like FN (mostly for their barrels) but the SCAR is old news now. 5.56 in anything shorts than 10" is stupid and better served by a different caliber. As for the price conversion...LOL. Again, if true, why? You can build an AR that does everything better (including a NRCH) than the SCAR plus add a light, optic, IR, mags and ammo and still be money ahead. I actually have zero idea if any of the statements made so far are accurate and it doesn't matter one iota to me aside from entertainment. Did FN jump the shark and decide to be the next trendy overpriced gun maker ala Q or what is actually going on here? |

Did FN jump the shark and decide to be the next trendy overpriced gun maker ala Q or what is actually going on here? To expound upon the first point, FN-America will only warranty the SCAR when an FN-manufactured suppressor is used. FN suppressors are only available to mil and LE. Therefore, FN will not warranty SCARs used by civvies with aftermarket suppressors. The second point, FN prices are verifiable on MGW. There was a point not too long ago when prices were suddenly all jacked up on MGW. It was verified that MGW doesn’t set the pricing, FN does. ETA: as to why FN pricing is all jacked up, I can only speculate. Maybe they’re trying to crush aftermarket SCAR builds. Maybe they’re trying to force everyone into warranty repairs rather than having self-sufficient users. IDK. I haven’t worked up the gumption to call and ask for a bullshit canned response. |

FN is trying to out do HK with pricing & ripping off costumers with BS policies, but suckers abound.

The BABY SCAR Has Arrived! : FN SCAR 15P | First MAG Review |
|
FN has been one of the most disappointing gun manufacturers. Seems to me they had lots of missed opportunities. Like a SCAR 17 that takes .308 AR mags and better address the stock hinge area and stress to optics. While the last 2 things may be urban legend, they could have turned perceived weaknesses into perceived strengths. Better price point on the SCAR 16. SCAR 16 compact type gun in 5.7. P90 with more conventional ergonomics. Simplified M249 that costs less.
Instead we get an over priced 7.5” 5.56. |

The current pricing is just an insult for what it is, and I say that as an owner of a couple. |

This is over a grand more and suppressing it voids the warranty? That's a hard pass for me dawg. Eta: not to mention 5.56 in a 7.5 inch barrel? |
